STUBBLEFIELD
Jakie Leon Stubblefield of Dayton, Texas, passed away Tuesday,
February 1, 2005 at the age of 62. He was born in Dayton, Texas
to Edward J. and Bernice Stubblefield on September 27, 1942.
Jakie is survived by his companion, Doris Garrett; daughters,
Linda Stubblefield, Carolyn Butcher; son, Frankie Stubblefield;
sister, Lillie Gore; brothers, Rusty Stubblefield, George Stubblefield;
nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and numerous other
loving and caring family members and countless friends. Graveside
services were held Friday, February 4, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at French
Cemetery while Rev. Johnny Belcher officiated.
KYLE
Ladys B. Kyle of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February
1, 2005 at the age of 81. She was born in Shepherd, Texas to
George Monroe and Margaret Ellen Hood on February 14, 1923. She
is preceded in death by children, Sherry Ellen Murphy and husband,
David, Windred Luke Kyle and wife, Edith, Rosemary Cockrum and
partner, Ray Overbay; grandchildren, David Luke Murphy, Sheila
Lackey, Tammy Murphy, Michale Murphy, Clyde Thomas Cockrum III,
Kendra Cotton, Krystal Stout, Kimberly Keen, Travis Kyle, Kevin
Kyle; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;
brother, Hugh Hood and wife, Violet (Pete); twin sister, Gladys
Foster; sister-in-law, Callie Hood; many nieces and nephews and
a host of other loving and caring family members and countless
friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 3, 2005,
3:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas.
Bro. Gene Jones conducted the service with interment at Farley
Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.
BETTY JOHNSON
Zerilda Elisabeth “Betty” Johnson, a long-time resident
of Cleveland, Texas passed away February 05, 2005 at Trinity
Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, Texas, at the age of 92. She
was born December 24, 1912 in Harrisburg, Texas to Robert Dixon
Reed and Maude Ethel Hall Reed. She was an active member of Oak
Shade Baptist Church for several years, and touched many lives
through teaching children and also adult Sunday School classes.
She was a wonderful mother and friend, and will be missed by
all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Horace
Edward Johnson; her son, Floyd Edward Johnson; and one great-grandson,
Lane Edward Lawson. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara
Elaine Bacon and her husband, Jim. Also surviving are grandchildren:
Donald Johnson and wife, Cindy “Sam”; Charles Johnson
and wife, Robbye; Charmayne Johnson Redd and husband, David;
and Amanda Bacon Couch and husband, Joshua. Surviving great-grandchildren
are Casey and Dean Johnson, Ashlee and Alizabeth Johnson, Hunter
Lawson and Derek Redd. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m.,
Tuesday, February 8, 2005 in the Pace Stancil funeral home chapel,
with interment at Oak Shade Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas. The family
greatly appreciates the many acts of kindness and thoughtfulness
from friends and her church family.
NETTLES
Tommy Joe Nettles, Sr., 59, of Coldspring, Texas passed away
Sunday, February 6, 2005, in Conroe, TX. He was born December
19, 1945 in LaGrange, Texas to Joe and Carrie Nettles that preceded
him in death. He is survived by his wife; Marilyn J. Nettles,
daughters; Melisa Walling and her husband Brad, Michelle Ellis
and her husband, Stacy, son; T. J. Nettles, Jr. and wife, Lauri,
grandchildren; Morgan Ellis, Hunter Walling, Alexis Nettles,
Courtney Nettles, Blakelea Nettles, Skylar Ellis, Sydney Walling,
brother; Royce Gene Nettles and wife Doris, mother in law; Lucile
Morgan. The family will receive friends at Pace-Stancil Funeral
Home in Coldspring, on Wednesday evening, February 9, 2005 from
6:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m.,
Thursday, February 10, 2005 at First Baptist Church Coldspring.
Graveside services following at Nettles Cemetery, Livingston,
Texas.
DOCKENS
Elberta Dockens, 95, of Splendora, Texas passed away Monday,
February 7, 2005, in Humble, TX. She was born April 10, 1909
in Angelina County to James and Nettie Vaught. Mrs. Dockens was
preceded in death by her husband, William Elvis Dockens and great
granddaughter, April Michelle Parker. She is survived by her
daughters: Oletha Price and Gwandolyn Jacobs and her husband,
R.L.; sons: Waymon Dockens and wife, Earline, and Billy Dockens
and wife, Frankie; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and
13 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends
at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, February 8,
2005 from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m.,
Wednesday, February 9, 2005 in the funeral home chapel. Graveside
services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 10, 2005 in White
Rock Cemetery, Center, Texas.
WALLING
Pearl Geraldine Walling of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Friday,
February 11, 2005 at the age of 91. She was born in Shepherd,
Texas to Sid and Millie Carlisle on September 17, 1913. She is
survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Redfield, Lena Rae Wagner;
numerous nieces, nephews,
great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; great-great-great-nieces
and nephews and a host of other loving family members and friends
beyond measure. She is preceded in death by husband, John David
Walling, sisters, Annie Cronin and Evilee Diamond. Rev. Capri
Grimes conducted the graveside service held Monday, February
14, 2005, 3:00 p.m. at Parker Cemetery, Grapeland, Texas.
BYRD
Idell Holloway Byrd of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday,
February 14, 2005 at the age of 98. She was born in San Augustine,
Texas to George and Sarah Warr Holloway on November 13, 1906
which have preceded her in death along with her loving husband,
Birt P. Byrd; grandparents, James Henry and Rebecca Ellen Warr;
granddaughter, Tonnia Tate Byrd; sisters, Nelly Holloway and
Cercinia Holloway; brothers, Elma Holloway, Dewitt Holloway,
Elzie Holloway and Lamontie Holloway. She is survived by her
daughter, Elizabeth Greening; son, James Byrd; sisters, Vena
Brown, Madeline Wall; grandchildren, Teresa DeHart, Becky Greer,
Paula Brewer, Serenity Byrd; great-grandchildren, Chris Greer,
David Greer, Jessica DeHart Wallace, Brian Greer, John DeHart,
Shawna Brewer, James DeHart, Zachary Brewer; many nieces, nephews
and other loving and caring family members and countless friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 16, 2005, 2:00
p.m., at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Pastor
Patrick DeHart and Pastor Linda Kennedy conducted the service
with interment at Garden Park Cemetery, Conroe, Texas.
Parker
Betty Lou Parker of Cleveland, Texas passed away February 15,
2005 at the age of 67. She was born in Raymondville, Texas to
Sidney Edin and Dorothy Amelia Brandt on April 25, 2005. She
is survived by sons, Roe and Teresa Parker, Jr., Gary and Tanya
Parker, Robert Parker, Jimmy Parker; grandson, David Saganek,
Granddaughter, Leslie Marsh and husband, Raymond, Renee Brumam,
Courtney Bruman; sisters, Many Ann Rogers, Delores Walker, Patsy
Brandt, Grace and Tom Lafferty, Nancy Evans; brothers, Robert
Brandt, Lawrence Brandt, Eugene Brandt; four great-grandchildren,
and a host of other loving family members and friends beyond
measure. A memorial service was held Saturday, February 19, 2005,
10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas.
LLOYD
Harold Raymond Lloyd of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Tuesday,
February 15, 2005 at the age of 58. He was born in Houston, Texas
to Harold P. and Billie Sue Lloyd on October 17, 1946. He is
survived by his wife, Susan Lloyd; father, Harold Lloyd and wife,
Nedra; mother, Billie Cirillo and husband, Dan; grandmother,
Lorena Lloyd; daughter, Michelle Whitlock and husband, Larry;
son, Robert Lloyd and wife, Angie; sister, JoLen Jeffus and husband,
Ricky; brothers, Louis Randall Lloyd and wife, Patsy, Danny Cirillo
and wife, Linda; five grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Thomas,
Andrew and Nathan; aunt, Aunt “Beet” Marguerite Tipton;
numerous other loving and caring family members and countless
friends. Funeral services were held Friday, February 18, 2005,
11:00 a.m., Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jerry Lyons
conducted the service with interment at Magnolia Cemetery, Onalaska,
Texas.
NESLONY
Raymond E. Neslony, Sr. born on August 30, 1925, entered eternal
rest on February 18, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Anne;
four children, Rebecca Beaty, Phyllis Henry, Paula Ammerman,
and Ray Neslony, Jr.; eight grandchildren, and three brothers,
Joseph Neslony of Waco, Bernard Neslony of Corpus Christi, and
Daniel Neslony of San Antonio. He was preceded in death by his
parents, three sisters, and two brothers. Funeral services will
be held Monday, February 21, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil
Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Memorial contributions
