Laura Alison Carrington, 25, of Hardin, died Wednesday, November
2, 2005, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 3 Pm, Saturday, November
5, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with burial
following at a later date at the Hardin Chapel Cemetery in
Hardin. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral
Home in Dayton.
Alison was born April 14, 1980 in Beaumont to parents; John
E. Carrington and Randa McCraw, and has resided in the Hardin
area throughout her life. She was a graduate of the Liberty
High School, had attended the Kingwood Junior College, and
enjoyed shopping, drawing, painting, writing poetry, playing
cards, and animals.
Miss Carrington was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandmother:
Lettie Rhyne, paternal grandfather: Wylie E. Carrington, and
maternal grandfather: Cameron Jerry McCraw. She is survived
by her mother: Randa McCraw Gobble of Hardin, father: John
E. Carrington and wife Nanette of IL, sisters: Andrea S. Davis
and husband Bobby of Liberty and Ashley Bruce and husband
Jonathan of Richmond, maternal grandmother: Ellen Savoy and
husband John of Hardin, paternal grandmother: Lillie Carrington
of Beaumont, fiancé: Kenny Vance of Moss Hill, and
numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives,
and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 Am, Thursday, November
10, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial
following at the Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be held
from 4 P to 9 P, Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services
are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.
William was born January 30, 1934 in Leoti, KS, to parents;
John and Mable Atkins Brock, a former resident of Cleveland
and has resided in the Liberty area for the past 35 years.
He was a retired swamper for IMCO of Liberty after 15 years
of employment, member and former custodian of the Bible Way
Pentecostal Church, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening,
and church activities.
Mr. Brock was preceded in death by is parents, wife of 40
years: Bertie M. Jackson Brock, and brother: Williard Brock.
He is survived by his son: Jeff Handley and wife Joyce of
Liberty, grandson: Curtis Dowdell of Shiro, great-grandson:
Dyllon Dowdell of Liberty, brothers: Walter Brock and wife
Ruth of Petrolia, Wallace Brock and wife Deanna of Porter,

Vicky Renee Niederhofer, of New Waverly, San Jacinto County,
Texas, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the age
of 50. She was born in Cairo, Illinois to Buford Wayne and
Evelyn Bell Warren on November 8, 1955 both of whom preceded
her in death.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dewey Niederhofer;
son, Matthew Niederhofer and wife, Amber; daughter, Jennifer
Yeskie; step-daughters, Wendy Karnach, Chlee Tibbitts and
husband, Bo; brother, Brad Warren; grandchildren, Dylan, Marshall,

Moody Lee “Mr. Moody” Fredenburg,
Sr. 87, of Liberty, died Friday, November 11, 2005, at his
residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Tuesday,
November 15, 2005, at the Liberty Church of Christ with
burial following at Cooke Memorial Cemetery in Liberty.
Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Monday, at the

Moody was born December 25, 1917 in Detroit,
TX, to parents; John F. and Francis O. Smith Fredenburg,
and has resided in the Liberty area for the past 37 years.
He was a veteran of the US Army with service during WW II,
a retired crane operator for Upjohn Construction of Houston,
owner/operator of M & N Concessions, member of the Liberty
Church of Christ, and enjoyed sports, fishing, hunting,
and raising cattle.
Mr. Fredenburg was preceded in death by his
parents, brothers: Jack, Benny, and Oliver Fredenburg, and
sisters: Elsie Day and Stella ‘Aunt Bill’ Dennis.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Naomi Hughes Fredenburg
of Liberty, sons: Moody Lee Fredenburg, Jr. and wife Marsha
of LaMarque and Pete Fredenburg and wife Karen of Belton,
daughters: Debbie Hanagriff and husband Walter of Crystal

Milford Key, 91, of Dayton passed away Saturday,
Nov. 12, 2005 in Crosby after an extended illness. He was
born in Cordova, Alabama on May 23, 2005. He was a retired
carpenter. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, American
Legion, and the Carpenter and Millwright Union.
Graveside services are 10:00 a.m., Monday,
Nov. 14, at Magnolia Park Cemetery with Rev. Tommy King
officiating. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil
Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel

Michael Arthur Key, 53, of Hardin, died Saturday,
November 12, 2005 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in
Beaumont, Texas. He was born November 5, 1952 in Houston,
Texas to parents Audrey Bartlett and Bettie Goodeson Key.
He was a lifelong resident of the Hardin area where he attended
Hardin High School. He was employed by the Liberty County
Drainage District, was a diesel mechanic for many years,
and a member of the Methodist Church.
Service for Mr. Key will be 1:00 p.m., Monday,
November 14, 2005 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Gideon Watson officiating. Burial will follow at Hardin
Chapel Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his father Audrey

Saturday, December 12, 2005 at home. She was born January
2, 1942 in Liberty, Texas to parents Albert Earl Budro,

playing video games and working cross-words.

Lou Emma Ham, age 95 of Shepherd, Texas, passed
away Friday, November 13, 2005. She was born in Lone Pine,

Albert William Gridley, 64 of Dayton, died
Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at home after an extended illness.
He was born July 18, 1941 in Haley, Idaho to parents Leland
and Mary Henshaw Gridley. He was a member of the Excelsior
class of 1960 in Norwalk, California and served in the U.S.
Navy. He married Roberta Nichols, October 23, 1958, was
a member of the Liberty Church of Christ and was retired
from GDS Engineering in Baytown. Mr. Gridley enjoyed fishing,
hunting, and motorcycles.

1975, millwright for Turner Industries of Pasadena with
five years of service, a member of the Houston Live Stock
show and Rodeo for 15 years, life member of the Pasadena
Livestock Show and Rodeo, a volunteer for Toys for Tots
and other benefits, and enjoyed trail rides with the Rojos
Trail Ride Club, barbecues, rodeos, motorcycles, and helping
children.

Moore
Will Owen Moore, Jr.,
73, of Dayton died peacefully at home Tuesday, November
22, 2005 after a brave fight with cancer. He was born
October 31, 1932 in Philadelphia, Mississippi to parents,
Will Owen Moore, Sr. and Mildred Robinson Moore.
He graduated from Humble High School,
received an Associate of Arts from Lon Morris College,
a Bachelor of Science from Stephen F. Austin State
College and a Master of Education from Sam Houston
State Teachers College.
Mr. Moore served in the United States
Army from 1955 until 1961, receiving the National
Defense Service Medal. He was a member of the First
United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities,
teaching Jr. High Sunday School for numerous years,
Chairman of the Administrative Board, member of the
Pastor Parrish Relations, Board of Trustees, Nominating
Committee, and Council on Ministries. On Sunday morning
he was always there to welcome you with a big smile
and a warm heart.

Will Moore retired after 40 years of service
in education. He was elementary school principal for 4 years,
principal of Dayton High School for 9 years and superintendent
of Dayton Independent School District for 11 years. In his
honor the Dayton I.S.D. named their new administration building,
Will O. Moore, Jr. Administration Building. He was always
dedicated to his students and their families. He faithfully
attended all school functions and as many athletic events
as possible cheering on his students. He holds an honored
place on the Dayton I.S.D. Wall of Fame.
Mr. Moore was very active in his community.
He was member and Past President of the Rotary Club where
he received the Paul Harris Fellow Award. He was a member
and Past Director of Liberty-Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce,
member and Past-President of Liberty County Retired School
Personnel, member and on the Executive Committee of Region
IV, Honorary Chapter Farmer, Honorary Life Member of Texas
Association of School Administrators, Honorary Life Membership
of Texas Congress of PTA, member of Edmond E. Jones Library
Board, member of Liberty Co. Cooperative for Special Education
Governing Board, Life Member of Texas State Teachers Association,
member of The Gideons International and received the 2001
Spring I.S.D. Distinguished Faculty Award.
Services for Mr. Moore will be 10:00 a.m.,
Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the First United Methodist
Church in Dayton with the Rev. Jon Stouffer officiating.
Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble under
the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton, Texas.
Mr. Moore is remembered by his family as
being most loving, honest and respected. He was preceded
in death by his parents, his sister: Bettie Moore Winter
and his granddaughter: Annie Hope Wright. He is survived
by his loving wife of 48 years, E. Maureen Moore of Dayton;
three children: Jane Anne Wright and husband Troy of Cedar
Park, Craig Owen Moore and wife Sarah of Splendora, and
Laurie Lynne Becker and husband Scott of Kingwood; by his
grandchildren that he loved so much and enjoyed playing

Texas. He was born in Weston, Ohio to Forest Jack and Anna
Vondale Wade on August 14, 1918. He was a resident of Cleveland,
Texas for over 29 years and a former resident of Belle Ville,
Michigan. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Air
Force and as years went by, retired from American Airlines.
He had many opportunities to travel and enjoyed making new
friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Maria Denney;
sons, Douglas and Doris Wade, Marc Wade; four grandchildren,
three great-grandchildren and many other loving family members
and caring friends. He is preceded in death by his parents;
and brother, Allan Wade.
Funeral services will be held (Wright Funeral
Home to fill in any service information for those who would
like to pay their respects in the area).
