Morrow

Mary L. Miles Morrow, 76, of Liberty, died Thursday, December 1, 2005, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Monday, December 5, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Palms Memorial Park in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 10 Am to 2 Pm, Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Mary was born February 28, 1929 in Lebanon, MO to parents; Howard and Bertha Leasing Miles, and has resided in the Liberty area since 1974. She was a homemaker, member of the Whispering Meadows Baptist Church, and enjoyed gardening, and her pets.

Mrs. Morrow was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Jack Morrow, son: Robert Morrow, grandchildren: Courtney Morrow and Charles Davie, and brother: Jimmy Miles. She is survived by her son: Ronnie Morrow of Caldwell, daughters: Carolyn Sue Ivester of Gastonia, NC, Cathy Frazier of Cleveland, and Cynthia Davie of Raywood, sisters: Roberta Sims of Kansas City, MO and Anna Marie Anderson of Lebanon, MO, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Hanson

Robert j. Hanson, 41, of Seabrook, died Dec. 3, 2005 at home.

Services for Mr. Hanson will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Dayton. Visitations will be 9:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. at the funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 15, 1964 in Hearne, Texas to parents Jack and Janette Morgan Hanson. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, served in the U.S. Navy, was a pipefitter with local 211 in Houston, lived in the area for 15 years and moved to the Clear Lake Area a year ago. He also enjoyed fishing, playing tennis, and loved water and being at the bay.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather: William Morgan; He is survived by Parents: Jack and Janette Hanson of Dayton; Sister: Janetha Hotaling and husband James of Dayton; Brother: Jack” Little Jack” Hanson and wife Lydia of Wilmington, Delaware; Grandmother: Julia Morgan of Hearne, his niece and nephew: Jamie and William Hotaling of Liberty, and numerous other relatives and friends.

 

Wortham

Jimmy Glen Wortham, age 70, was born in Cleveland, Texas on November 2, 1935 to Lonnie Roy and Marie Norean Wortham both of whom preceded him in death along with his brother-in-law, Jesse Head. He was a 15 year resident of Conroe, Texas, of Baptist faith, and served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Betty Wortham; sons, Lonnie Wortham and wife, Rhonda of Willis, TX, David Wortham and wife, Rebecca of Kerrville, TX, Rodney Wortham and wife, Jayna of Cleburne, TX; grandchildren, Amanda, Rachel, Krystal, Kayla, Kelsey, Sasha, Jessica, and Bethany; sisters, Betty Marks and husband, Fred of Spring, TX, Jane Fingleman and husband, Clarence (Sonny) of Richmond, TX, Sue Head of Conroe, TX, Pat Spangler and husband, Franklin of Conroe, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family members and caring friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 12/8/05, 1:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Pastor Charles Smith will conduct the service with interment at Boothe Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

 

Whatley

Jimmy Glen Wortham, age 70, passed away December 5, 2005. OZAN

Robert “Pete” Lewis Ozan, age 69, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2005. He was born in Starks, Louisiana to Louis and Helen Ozan of whom preceded him in death along with his brother, Nathan Ozan and sister, Norma Blanchard.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Ozan; daughters, Cheryl Patat and husband Jerry, Kathy Morgan and husband, Rusty, Louise Summerford and Becky Ozan; grandchildren, Tara Gunnels, Shawnie Mosley, Heather Davis, Brian Josey, Rubben Summerford, Nicholas Summerford, Kelly Casey, Chris Casey; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Verdine, Louise Franks, Chris Ozan, Virginia Badeaux and numerous nieces and nephews, and other loving family members and caring of friends.

Family and friends gathered together Thursday, December 8th and Friday, December 9th, 2005 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home to pay their last respects. He will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cox

Kathryn R. Nichols Cox, 59, of Dayton, died Thursday, December 8, 2005, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 1 Pm, Sunday, December 11, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Earthman’s Resthaven Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Kathryn was born September 19, 1946 in Marion County, MS, to parents; James E. and Virginia Boyles Nichols, a former resident of Houston, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 32 years. She was a retired cashier from the Stephen F. Austin Elementary School of the Dayton ISD after 23 years of service, a member of the Dayton Athletic Booster Club, former secretary for little league, and former den mother for the cub scouts. She also enjoyed fishing, ceramics, watching movies, and especially spending time with her family.

Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her father: James E. Nichols and brother: Robert H. Nichols. She is survived by her husband of 41 years: Albert Cox of Dayton, sons: Stephen Cox and wife Kelly of Crosby and David Cox and wife Gretchen of Dayton, seven grandchildren, mother: Virginia Boyles Nichols of MS, brother: Jimmie Nichols of Huntsville, sisters: Judy Nichols of MS and Carolyn Lilley of MS, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

McMahon

Funeral services for Billie Jean Lindley McMahon will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Cleveland, officiated by Rev. Larry Smith. Interment will follow in Cleveland City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace Stancil Funeral Home. She died Friday, December 9, 2005 at Marshall Manor in Marshall, TX.

Mrs. McMahon was born May 21, 1924 to parents Myrtle Ellis Lindley and William Calvin Lindley. She was a Cleveland native and attended college at Sam Houston State Teachers College and the University of Texas majoring in interior design.

She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta – Epsilon Chapter, The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Pilot Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday school teacher, youth leader, District Secretary of Missionary Education and Service, Women’s Society of Christian Service and Lay Leader for Texas Mission Home and Training School. She was a member of the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs where she as president of the Magnolia District and was later elected State president from 1988-1990.

She is preceded in death by: her mother, Myrtle Ellis Lindley; father, William Calvin Lindley; brother Kenneth Lindley; sister, Opal Dane Strahan. She is survived by her husband Joel McMahon Jr.; son, Joel McMahon III and wife Sharon McMahon; daughter, Danette Feuerbacher and husband Terry Feuerbacher; grandchildren; Joel McMahon IV, Erin Rochester, Marcus Schnee, Amy Griffith, Meredith Knox; great grandchildren; Nicholas Jackson, Mila Jackson, Stephen McMahon, Christina McMahon, Courtney Vaughan and Arianna Griffith.

Family visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday, Dec. 12, 2005 from 6-8 p.m.

Hall

David Walter Hall, of Pataskala, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 12, 2005 at the age of 69. He was born in Rockford, Missouri to Raymond E. and Orpha Elizabeth Hall on April 3, 1936.

He is survived by his children, Becky Bailey and husband, Ted, Randy Hall and Kathy Hall; brother, Jack Hall; sisters, Alice Endicott and husband, Walter, Ethel Mae Hoffman, Anna Lou Norris and husband, David; grandchildren, Karen Bailey and Rex Bailey; great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Taylor, and Jacob Frady; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and caring friends. He is preceded in death by his brother, Donald Ray Hall and brother-in-law, Clyde Hoffman.

A gathering of friends and family for a memorial visitation will be Thursday evening, December 15, 2005, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.

Umble

Dorsey Kyle Umble of Cleveland, Texas passed away Sunday, December 11, 2005 at the age of 89. He was born in Fairmont, West Virginia to William Michael and Mary Ellen Umble on March 22, 1916.

He is survived by his son, Gerald Umble; daughter, Gail Land and husband, Henry; step-daughter, Judith White; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Umble and wife, Winnona; sister, Betty with many other loving family members and caring friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Umble; daughter, Linda Joyce Anderson; granddaughter, Lisa Anderson and his brother, Willis Umble.

Rice

Michael B. Rice, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the age of 58. He was born to Clyde and Geneva Rice on November 26, 1947. He was an employee at Sunoco for 28 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Edwards and Richard, Kimberly Davis and Jack; son, Michael B. Rice, Jr.; sisters Ruth Koester, Delores Garrett, Carolyn Howard, Shirley Mittlesteadt, Bernice Bilski, Linda Montessi; brothers, Chester Rice, Cecil Rice, Jerry Rice; grandchildren, Ricky, Kenny, Justin, Kennette, Kimber, Chelsey, Kris, Johnny, Bryan, Ashlynn, Veronica; mother of his children and love of his life, Nellie. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Pat Rice.

Visitation will be Friday, 12/16/05, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Dr. Cecil Rice will conduct funeral services held Saturday, 12/17/05, 2:30 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Ryan Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

Evans

Gary Warren Evans, Sr. of Rye, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at the age of 57. He was born in El Paso to Thomas and Virginia Evans, Sr. on October 14, 1948.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynette Evans Koonce; sisters, Danielle Gute, Patricia Joseph, Virginia Pennuel; brothers, Thomas Evans, Jr., Mike Evans and wife, Luvena, Richard Evans and wife, Gaye, Edward Evans, James Evans, Stanley Evans, and Glenn Evans; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brooke Koonce, Robyn Danielle Evans, Chevy Warren Evans, Codye Hecker with numerous nieces and nephews and many other loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Virginia Evans Son, Gary Warren Evans, Jr.; sisters, Deborah Evans, Diane Ray and Denise Hueber.
Graveside services were held Friday, December 16, 2005, 10:30 a.m. at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.

Eddlemon

Thurman P. Eddlemon, 80, of Newton, died Thursday, December 15, 2005, at the Shady Acres Health and Rehab Center in Newton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 Pm, Monday, December 19, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Thurman was born August 24, 1925 in Pearcy, AR, to parents; Will and Betty Weatherford Eddlemon, a former resident of Cleveland, and has resided in the Newton area for the past three years. He was a retired employee from Champion Paper in Cleveland, a veteran of the US Air Force with service during WW II and Korea, member of the Assembly of God Church, and enjoyed working in his yard, playing guitar and singing at church.

Mr. Eddlemon was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Patsy Eddlemon, brothers: Henry and Roy Eddlemon, and sister: Floye Sarafin. He is survived by his brother: Lloyd Eddlemon of Friendswood, sister: Ella Mae Short of CA, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.


Frye-Andry

Melanie Ruth Frye Andry, of Splendora, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Houston, Texas to Gerhardt and Dorothy Schumann on September 3, 1949. She had established countless friends after 24 years in the Splendora community. Her family and friends will surely miss her.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Larose Andry; mother Dorothy Schumann; daughters, Dori Welch and husband, Barry of Splendora, Texas, Stephanie Johnson and husband, Keith of Magnolia, Texas; sons, Cody Frye and wife, Stephanie of Splendora, Russell Andry and wife, Michelle of Pearland, Texas; sister, Ginger Daniels and husband, Thomas of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Drew and Kloie Welch of Splendora, Texas, Emry and Amber Andry of Plearland, Texas, Gary and Jacob Johnson of Magnolia, Texas; grandmaw, Jackie Kimberly and family with numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving family members and countless friends.

ACUFF

NORMAN LEE “DUTCH” ACUFF, age 64, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2005 at his residence. He was born in Livingston, Texas to Lee Douglas and Mary Ola Acuff on August 24, 1941. He was Baptist in faith and was a resident of the Cleveland community for over 14 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille S. Acuff; mother, Mary Ola Acuff; daughter, April; sons, Mike, Timothy, William and Bryan; sister, Brenda K. Hamm; brother, William L. Acuff; grandchildren, Cody, Jenny, Kisha, Dustin, Dalton, Emanual, and Dakota; daughters-in-law, Toni, Fawn, Cristinia, and Teresa and many other loving family members and caring friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Douglas Acuff.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 21, 2005, 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Carl Williamson conducted the service with interment at Peebles Cemetery, Goodrich, Texas.

Youngblood

Dick C. “Dicky” Youngblood, II, 48, of Dayton, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at the Doctor’s Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 10 Am, Friday, December 23, 2005, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 10 Am to 9 Pm, Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Dicky was born April 16, 1957 in Liberty to parents; Dick C. Youngblood and Rosalie Flowers, and has resided in the Dayton area throughout his life. He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1975 and had attended the Sam Houston State University, member of the First Baptist Church of Dayton, former employee of Exxon of Baytown, a salesman for Randall Reed Auto of Humble, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and hunting.

Mr. Youngblood was preceded in death by his step-father: H. L. McCombs and maternal grandmother: Irene J. Flowers. He is survived by his sons: Dick C. Youngblood, III and wife Renee of Dayton, Shane J. Youngblood and wife Candi of Huffman, and Jacob Youngblood of Dayton, daughter: Meagan Youngblood of Liberty, grandchildren: Aaron and Chloe, mother: Rosalie McCombs of Dayton, father: Dick C. Youngblood and wife Carole of Onalaska, wife: Kimberly Grossinger Youngblood of Dayton, sisters: Carmen Pratka and husband Ronnie of Dayton, Carol Kolarik and husband Gerald of Dayton, and Carla Welder of Galveston, aunt: Deen Curry of Dayton, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Smith

Caroline Marie Smith, age 59, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Monday, December 19, 2005. She was born in Great Falls, Montana to Calvin D. and Martha Sophis Hering on March 7, 1946.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel F. Smith; daughter, Rebecca Smith Harrell and husband, Richard T., Sr. of Shepherd; grandsons, Richard T. Harrell, Jr. and wife, Christy of Tarkington,; James Daniel Harrell of Shepherd; great-grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Cody, and Reagan; her mother, Martha Kvande and husband, Clearnce of Montana; her father, Calvin Hering and wife, Lois of Montana. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Danielle Rolynn Harrell.

Graveside services were held Thursday, December 22, 2005, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas.

Shilling

Funeral services for LIELA MARIE SHILLING will be held Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, 2:00 p.m. at Plum Grove Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Roy Youngblood with interment at Plum Grove Cemetery.

She died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005 in Plum Grove, Texas. She was born in Brunswick, Missouri, to James E. and Lillian L. Holmberg on Apr. 12, 1926.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Shilling, David M. Shilling; daughters Carolyn L. Reaves, Barbara J. Kelly; grandchildren, Dana Reaves, Susanne Reaves, Jerry Kelly, Paul Kelley, Trey Shilling, Jason Shilling, Jimmie Shilling, Micah Shilling and Caleb Shilling; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Cory, Breana, Jacob, Bryce and many other loving family members and caring friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Shilling.

Family visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005 from 6-8 p.m.

Shipman

Johnny Ray Shipman, Sr., 61, of Dayton, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 2 Pm, Friday, December 30, 2005, at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie with Rev. Mike Blackburn officiating and burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Thursday and continue from 9 Am to noon, Friday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Johnny was born November 26, 1944 in Brookhaven, MS to parents; J. E. and Ruby L. Yarbrough Shipman, and has resided in the Dayton area throughout most of his life. He was a retired tool pusher in the oil field industry, veteran of the US Navy, member of the Trinity Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, clockwork, small engine repair, and traveling to Louisiana.

Mr. Shipman was prece3ded in death by his father: J. E. Shipman, and brothers: James E. and Larry E. Shipman. He is survived by his daughter: Missy Jackson and husband Jesse of Sergeant, son: Johnny Ray Shipman, Jr. and wife Diane of Katy, nine grandchildren: Derrick Shipman and wife Brandy, C. J. Gunter, Krystle Shipman, Leslie Crews, Cory Shipman, Scooter Crews, Dalton Jackson, Josh Jackson, and Jesse Jackson, Jr., one great-grandchild: Connor Shipman, mother: Ruby L. Shipman of Dayton, sisters: Sandra Banning of Dayton, Sue Banik and husband Melvin of Flynn, and Patricia Totzer of Anahuac, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 

WILLIAMSON

Jesse Everett Williamson, of New Caney, Texas, passed away December 28, 2005 at the age of 63. He was born in Houston, Texas to Bill and Bertie Williamson on November 9, 1942.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandi Henry; grandchildren, Jesse Henry, Kayla Henry and Christin Howard; sisters, Pearl Oliver, Gladys Mize and husband, Earl, Gaynell Metts and husband, Carl, Faye Kirkland and husband, Mike; brothers, Ralph Williamson, Elbert Williamson and wife, Dot. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Bertie Williamson; brother, Jabo Williamson; and sisters, Vera Carter, Mozell Willis.

Graveside services were held Friday, December 30, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Plum Grove Cemetery, Plum Grove, Texas.

 

Fountain

Mary Mageline Fountain, age 93, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2005. She was born in Dallardsville, Texas to Issac and Martha Bailey on September 19, 1912.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Debbie and Jimmy Munson, Karen and Buddy Rohrer, Gary Wayne Fountain, Crystal and Gerry Gimber, Steve and Melissa Fountain, Donald Fountain, Timothy Fountain, Lee Ann Morton, Lisa and Brian Paxton, Ben Haltom and Joy Templin; sister, Selma Evitts; numerous great grandchildren; Numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Fountain, sons; Archie “Cotton” and Newton “Buddy” Fountain, daughter, Neva Templin, grandson; Richard Dale Fountain.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 31, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Big Sandy Cemetery, Big Sandy Texas.

 

Livingston

Sara Francis Livingston, age 79, of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2005. She was born in Oklahoma to James and Vada Combs, on December 30, 1925.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Corley; Sons, Ronald Livingston, Terry Livingston, brothers; Jimmy Combs, Bill Combs, Five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held, December 31, 2005, 10:00 a.m., at Big Sandy Cemetery, Big Sandy, Texas.

Bassett

Taylor Leann Bassett, born and died December 30, 2005 to Patricia Nicole Jackson and Casey Charles Bassett. Other survivors, grandparents (mother’s side), Gary and Melodie Jackson; grandparents (father’s side), Charles and Linda Morgan, Jim and Cheree Bassett; great –grandparents, Richard and Elenor Carson, Lorraine Jackson; aunts and uncles (mother’s side), Tiffany Leann Jackson, Robert Edward Jackson, David Micheal Allmer; aunts and uncles (father’s side), Julie and Joe Hajek, Jimmy Ray Bassett.
