Ames

Richard H. "Dick" Ames, Jr., 78, of Kenefick, passed away Friday, September
1, 2006, at his residence.

Dick was born November 7, 1927 in Prescott, AZ, to parents; Richard H., Sr.
and Alice J. Archambeau Ames, a former resident of Houston, and has resided
in the Kenefick area for the past 38 years. He attended the Lake Elsinore
Naval Academy, veteran merchant marine with service during WW II, retired
maintenance superintendent from Enterprise Products of Mt. Belvieu after 20
years of employment and previous employment with Munday Maintenance for 20
years, and member of the Pine Ridge Hunting Club. Mr. Ames also enjoyed
deer hunting, the beach, the outdoors, and spending time with family and
friends.


Mr. Ames was preceded in death by his parents, son: Ray Bedgood, Jr.,
great-grandson: William David Buttram, sister: Micki Rue, and brother:
Mike Ames. He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Carrie Dorlene Ames of
Kenefick, sons: Richard P. Ames and wife Loretta of Humble, David L. Ames
and wife Nancy of Pinetop, AZ, Steven D. Ames, Sr. and wife Rita of
Kenefick, and Robert A. Ames, Sr. and wife Bobbie of Kenefick, daughters:
Laurie Anne Love and husband Victor of Austin, Rebecca Wiggins and husband
Jim of Austin, and Cathy D. Thibodeaux and husband Wayne of Baytown, sister:

Faulkner

Altha Lee Faulkner, of Baytown, Texas, passed away September 1, 2006 at the age of 88. She was born in Security, Texas on December 10, 1917. Preceded in death by her husband, Elvie Faulkner, daughter-in-law, Judith Faulkner.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald Faulkner, Steven Faulkner and wife, Sophia, sisters, Opal Jordan and Erma Lea Hill, four grandchildren, Mark Faulkner, Matthew Faulkner, Kristen Ivy, Bo Faulkner, four great-grandchildren, Brittany Faulkner, Brandi Faulkner, Craig Ivy, Julie Ivy, and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation was Sunday, September 3, 2006, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Funeral services were held Monday, September 4, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Morgan Cemetery.

 

CARNLEY

Daniel Michael Carnley, 43, of New Caney, Texas, born August 5, 1963, passed away Friday, September 1, 2006. Arrangements were made through Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.

Glenda Black, 69, born May 1, 1937, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2006. Arrangements were made through Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.

J. W. Caldwell, born on June 28, 1937, passed away on September 3, 2006. Lois Edith Turner, 78, born March 6, 1928, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2006. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Magnolia Baptist Church, Evergreen, Texas, with interment at Magnolia Cemetery.

Bailey

Pauline "Polly" Butcher Bailey, 87, of Dayton, died Thursday, September 7,
2006, at the Heritage Villa Nursing Home in Dayton.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2006, at
the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton with burial following at Linney
Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.,
Saturday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of
Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Pauline was born December 24, 1918 in Many, Louisiana to parents, Frank
Silhavy and Rosie Datel. She has resided in the Dayton area throughout her
life. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, flowers, gardening, her
yard, and watching the Astros.

Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Grady E. Bailey,
father of her children: George E. Butcher; daughters: Evelyn Andress and
Brenda Anglin; two brothers: Charlie and Frank and six sisters: Mary,
Rosie, Helen, Carolyn, Ida, and Ann. She is survived by her daughters:
Georgia Moore and husband, Leo of Dayton, and Betty Brown and husband, Elvin
of Dayton, Ernestine Fregia and husband, Nathan of Liberty; her sons:
Frank Butcher and Gale of Hardin, Billy Butcher and wife, Jaunelle of China,
Gene Butcher and wife, Lena, of Dayton, Henry Butcher and wife, Redia of
Dayton, Ernest Butcher and wife, Darlene of Dayton; and her brother, Albert
Zaruba and wife, Jerri of Conroe; 27 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren
and 4 great great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.

 

Wagner

Ronald Wagner, age 55, of Shepherd Texas, passed away Friday, September 08, 2006. He was born in Rochester, New York to Frank and Vivian Wagner on September 09, 1950.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Wagner; father, Franklin Wagner,daughters, Paula Scheno and husband, James, Michelle Coogler and husband, Allen Coogler; son, Jeff Berton and wife, Jenny Berton, grandchildren, Coty Parish, Justin Coogler, Brittany Berton, Makaela Prigmore, Chelsey Berton, Carley Coogler, three sister, two brothers.

Graveside services were held Sunday, September 10, 2006, 2:30p.m. at Hayman Cemetery, Coldspring, Texas. Rev. Jerry Bontrager conducted the service. Visitation was Saturday, September 9, 2006 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

 

Richardson

Arlie Tucker Richardson, 87, of Moss Hill, died Saturday, September 9, 2006, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Hardin Chapel Cemetery in Hardin. Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm, Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Tucker was born September 24, 1918 in Purdy, OK, to parents; Richard V. and Nancy M. Sides Richardson, a former resident of Henderson, and has resided in the Moss Hill area for the past 58 years. He was a veteran of the US Army with service during WW II, a retired pumper for Texaco after 31 years of employment, member of the Nolan D. Pickett VFW Post #5621, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing dominoes, raising cattle, and watching the Astros.

Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Lydia J. Rogers Richardson, sisters: Ruby Brand and Elva Bonner, and brothers: Lloyd, Roy, and Bob Richardson. He is survived by his daughters: Donna Miller and husband Durwood of Hardin and Kathy Glassco and husband Jay of Osage, OK, sons: Vernon Richardson and wife Karen of Hardin, Tucker Richardson and wife Linda of Houston, and David Richardson and wife Jeanette of Longview, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

McKEE

D oris Ida McKee was born July 25, 1920 to David L. and Iona Kite in LaPryor, Texas. Growing up on farms in the area, she was the oldest with one brother, Lester, (2 years younger), and one sister, Maxine, (7 years younger), they helped in the fields. After working in the outdoors for so many years, she never really enjoyed the housework end of things.

She was employed by the local bank after high school and spent most of her life in the bookkeeping field. During WWII, she served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 3 years. During her lifetime she enjoyed her travels in the U.S.A. She spent 6½ years in Brazil with her husband, Leonard, whom preceded her in death, June 1990. Doris became very ill after his death and almost joined him but God chose to allow her to live and recover. She had not accomplished what she was allowed to live on this earth to do.

She taught culture refinement in Relief Society during 1972 to 1975. Being of Morman faith, she taught Sunday School youth for a short period then helped Lady missionaries with transportation Since August 1994 she has been a Librarian at the Kingwood Stake Family History Center. Doris Ida McKee was a very accomplished woman.

She is survived by her, brother, Lester Kite; niece, Lynn Greenwade; brother-in-law, Ernest McKee; and ,many nieces, nephews and other caring family members and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 9, 2006 1:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

HAYES

Eva Maria Ruth Hayes of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the age of 83. She was born in Berlin, Germany to Oscar Richard and Ava Marie Doring on June 9, 1923. She is survived by her sons, Rene Madrid and wife, Peggy, Michael Madrid and wife, Linda Kay, Mark Hayes and wife, Pam, Scott Hayes and wife, DeLinda, stepson, James Ray Hayes, daughter, Yvonne Havemann, sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 12, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.

DuBOSE

Joanne DuBose, 59, born in Houston, Texas on July 3, 1947, passed away September 10, 2006. Arrangements made through Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.

Brown

Rodney Brown, 59, of Dayton died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in Houston after an

extended illness. He was born November 10, 1946 in DeQuincy, Louisiana to parents: Cecil Leonard and Myrtyle McCullough Brown. He attended high school in DeQuincy and later went on to become a locomotive engineer for 37 years. He had been retired since 1998, enjoyed drawing, art and building items, but most of all his great passion was his career as a locomotive engineer.

Services for Mr. Brown will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2006 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday evening 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his father: Cecil Brown and is survived by his wife: Trudy Lucero of Dayton, Tx.; his mother: Martyle E. Brown of DeQuincy, La.; his daughter: Lisa Rasmussen of Montgomery, Tx.; his grandson: Christ Rasmussen of Montgomery, Tx.; his step-son: Paul Jason Peterson of Porter, Tx.; his brothers: Steve Brown and wife Marion of Jewitt, Tx. and Randy Brown and wife Karen of Manrel, Tx.

JOHNSON

Ina Johnson, 86, born in Locust Bayou, Arkansas on August 9, 1920, passed away September 14, 2006. She was born to Lee and Emma York of whom preceded her in death along with her husband, Joseph C. Johnson; son, Lansing Max Dedman; sisters, Novis Kelley and Cynthia Williams; brothers, Chester York and John L. York.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Dedman Hope; son, Nickie Jay Johnson; grandchildren; Jodi L. Johnson, Charles D. Hope, Mac Anthony Hope, Kimberly Hope Barker, John T. Hope, Kim Dedman LaFour; eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and caring friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 16, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Cleveland with interment at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

Senter

Lena Senter, 99, born in Waco, Texas on May 1, 1907, passed away September 15, 2006. Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas, with interment at Grove Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.

Marsh

Beverly Cox Marsh, age 83 of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006. She was born in Houston, Texas on March 9, 1923.

She is survived by her Children, Joseph M. Marsh Jr. and wife, Treba, Craig H. Marsh and wife, Elizabeth, Susan M. Choate and friend, Javiar, grandchildren, Sonya Marsh Howard and husband, Deawayne, Michelle C. Reeves and husband, Keith, Aaron Joseph Marsh, great- grandchildren, Ashlyn A. Reeves, Madison M. Reeves, Makenzie T. Reeves, brother, Vance H. Cox and wife, Verna Dee, numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, September 19, 2006, 10:00 a.m. at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas Rev. Lenny Wilson conducted the service.

 

Nance

Barbara Duncan Nance, 60, of Crosby, died Sunday, September 17, 2006, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Barbara was born September 8, 1946 in Bellville, to parents; Archie Duncan and Margie Krenek, a former resident of Pearland, and has resided in the Crosby area for the past 21 years. She was the owner and operator of American Parking Control, graduate of Sealy High School, attended the First Baptist Church of Dayton, held membership in many business organizations, and enjoyed shopping with her daughter, bowling, playing tennis, and her business.

Mrs. Nance is survived by her husband of 28 years: Franklin Nance, Sr. of Crosby, daughters: Katie Nance of Crosby and Lisa Nance of LaPorte, son: Franklin Nance, Jr. and wife Michele of Pearland, five grandchildren, mother: Margie Krenek Kudlacek of Kenefick, sisters: Patsy Kudlacek of Crosby, Linda Franklin of Conroe, Susan Toadvine of Katy, and Cindy Tacker of Conroe, brothers: Archie Duncan of Shreveport, LA, Richard Kudlacek of Deer Park, and Ronn Kudlacek of Houston, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gloria Silos, 23, born in Monterey, Mexico on April 2, 1983, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2006 in North Carolina. Funeral services will be held, Monday, October 2, 2006, 3:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.

Mary Katherine Alford-Whitney, 75, born in Cass County, Texas on December 10, 1930, resident of Splendora, Texas, passed away September 24, 2006. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 27, 2006, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Morgan Cemetery.

Maxine Francis Dial, 81, born in Dallas, Texas on June 22, 1925, resident of Cleveland, Texas, passed away September 25, 2006. Graveside services were held Friday, September 29, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at Oak Shade Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.

She is survived by her daughter, Jo Dial Barton; grandchildren, Jimmy Jo Barton, Justin Mack Barton, Jessica Smith; great-grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Caleb Smith, Lauren Barton; sisters and brothers, Micky Matthews, Elaine Hembree, Medord Kernell and many nieces and nephews along with other loving family members and caring friends.

CALLAHAN

Russell Joseph Callahan, 61, born in Thibodaux, LA on January 31, 1945, resident of Shepherd, Texas, passed away September 25, 2006.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 27, 2006, 3:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father, Guy J. Callahan. He is survived by his loving wife, Earline M. Callahan; mother, Lucille B. Callahan; daughters; Tammy Richey and husband, Pug, Tracy Broussard; sons, Scott Callahan, Anthony Callahan and wife, Suzanne; sister, Dianne Andras; brothers, Byron Callahan, Kerry Callahan; six grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and caring friends.

Murray

Sybil M. King Murray, 74, of Dayton, died Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at her residence.

A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 28, 2006, at the Whispering Meadows Baptist Church in Dayton. Arrangements are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Sybil was born November 28, 1931 in Paint Rock, to parents; Grover and Nora Nixon King, a former resident of San Antonio, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 30 years. She was a graduate of the Buena Vista High School class of 1947, a homemaker, member of the Whispering Meadows Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Murray was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Lavenia, Phyllis, and Edna, and brothers: R. D. and Earl. She is survived by her husband of 57 years: Jimmie M. “Mr. Jim Murray of Dayton, daughters: Marilyn Mints and husband Roy of Hardin and Joyce Smith and husband Mike, son: Gary Murray and wife Connie of Kenefick, sisters: Mary Huddleston of Imperial, Bonnie Maxie of Brady, Fay Grove of Sweetwater, Ann Johnson of Odessa, and Sue North of Odessa, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to your charity of choice or to the American Cancer Society in Sybil’s name.

Brown

Special Forces, Sergeant Major George R. Brown, 32, of the US Army, was reported missing in action on March 28, 1968 near Tchepone, Savannakhet Province, Loas.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2006, at the Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton, with burial following thereafter. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

George Ron “Ronny” was born September 19, 1935 in Daytona Beach, FL, to parents; Ronald and Mamie Brasier-Brown, and was a former resident of Holly Hill, FL. He was a Sergeant Major (Intelligence Sergeant) with the 5th Special Forces Group for the US Army during the Vietnam War, a linguistics expert, and held deep water demolitions, paratrooper, medic, and frogman certifications.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and wife: Ileen M. Mills Brown. He is survived by his daughters Ronda Brown-Pitts of Dayton and Brandi Brown of Phoenix, AZ, granddaughters: Tiffany Calhoun of Dayton, Lindsey Espinoza of Colorado Springs, CO, and Ashley Tirado of CA, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

 

KUCIEMBA

Robert Lee Kuciemba, 72, passed away Friday, September 29, 2006. Arrangements were made through Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.

MEATTE

Benny Floyd Meatte, 48, of Splendora, Texas, passed away September 30, 2006. He was born February 25, 1958 in Hollywood, Florida to Morris Mathew and Mary Emma Meatte of whom preceded him in death along with his brothers, Michael Meatte and Morris Meatte, Jr.; and his sister Joyce Taylor.

Benny worked at Harris County Facilities and Property Management for 24 years; he was a Little League Baseball Coach for 13 years and truly enjoyed every minute he spent with the kids.

Benny is leaving behind his loving wife, Brenda; and sons, Michael Shannon Meatte and wife, Elizabeth and Shawn Meatte; brothers, Terry W. Meatte and wife, Lanell of Tarkington Prairie, Texas, Mark A. Meatte of Tarkington Prairie, Texas; sisters, Hilda Orman of Houston, Texas, Linda Fielder of Tennessee; mother-in-law, Bertie Mott and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members and caring friends.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2006, 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Splendora under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.
