Kenneth Neal Breeden, 77, of Kenefick, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 in Liberty, Texas.

Services for Mr. Breeden will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.

Kenneth was born October 4, 1940 in Herald’s Prairie, Illinois to parents Paul and Louise Drake Breeden.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force, where being fluent in Russian was an asset to his Air Force communications job.  He had been a volunteer fireman and city alderman in Point Comfort, Texas prior to moving to Kenefick.   A resident of the Dayton area since 1979, Kenneth was very active in the Lone Star Daylily Society. He and his wife Katy have been well known for their beautiful daylily gardens.  After leaving the Air Force, Kenneth worked as a journeyman electrician for Alcoa and eventually joined the Texas Department of Criminal Justice where he retired as a Maintenance Manager.  Kenneth also did tax preparation from home. 

Mr. Breeden was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Katy Breeden of Kenefick; his son, Mark Breeden and wife Joyce of Kenefick; his daughter, Lynne Schmuck and husband Joseph of Dayton; grandchildren, Skye Ibarra and husband David, Hannah Whitehead and husband Jordan and Mikayla Schmuck; also one great grandchild on the way; step-grandsons, Jeremiah Higginbotham and family and Jeremy Schmuck and family; his sister, Doris Janak and husband Victor of Hallettsville; also numerous other relatives and friends.
