Mary "Louise" Swindell

Mary “Louise” McHorse Swindell, 94, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at the May Cemetery in May, Texas. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Louise was born May 17, 1923 in Brownwood, to parents; Alsey O. and Elsie Briscoe McHorse. A former resident of Dayton and she has resided in Carmel, Indiana for the past 13 years. She was a graduate of the Early High School and Howard Payne Business College. She was homemaker, former employee of Flowerland Florist, and had also worked in Washington D.C. during WWII. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Swindell was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 62 years: Joe Swindell, and sisters: Lucille Chambers, Lola May Davis, and Ruth Seaton. She is survived by her daughters: Jodie Datel and husband Jimmy of Dayton, and Jannell Swindell of Carmel, Indiana, son: Russell Swindell of Dayton, sister-in-law: Patsy Childress and husband Kenny of Eula, nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Jennifer and Jessica Addington for their care given to Louise.
