Perry Edwin Thornton

Perry Edwin Thornton, 66, of Dayton passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 in Houston, Texas. He was born February 28, 1951 in Dayton, Texas to parents Lloyd “Skeet” Thornton and Frances Jordan Thornton.

Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Perry was a lifelong resident of Kenefick. He was retired from F & L Fabrication and attended New Life Church. He loved nature and enjoyed whittling especially walking sticks. He was a song writer, guitar picker, and singer.

He was preceded by his father, Lloyd “Skeet” Thornton; son, Keith Edwin Thornton and brother, Ronnie Thornton. Perry is survived by his wife of 6 years, Becky Thornton; his mother, Frances Jordan Thornton; son, Phillip Edwin Thornton; daughter, Penny Elaine Thornton; sons by marriage, John Winston Cline and James Russell Cline; brothers, Tootie Thornton and wife Charlotte; sisters, Peggy Ilene Dobbs, and Gina Thornton Norris; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and family.
