Alvin Coody, age 75, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 in Cleveland, Texas. He was born September 27, 1937 in Sealy, Texas to parents Jesse and Mary Coody who preceded him in death along with his brother Leroy Coody and his nephew Eric Coody. Mr. Coody was a 1959 graduate of Sealy High School, he was a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army from June 1962-September 1966; and a retired machinist from Kruger’s Manufacturing Co. Inc. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He had a heart full of love and was deeply devoted to his family. He found great joy in cooking; family gatherings were made tastier with his Bar-B-Q and Fish Fries. His grandchildren were the light of his life, he loved going to their sporting events. He will be remembered lovingly by all those who knew and loved him. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 47 years and 11 months Emma Bosko Coody; his daughter Debra Coody; son Jesse Coody and wife Misty; sister Joyce Coody; brother Jesse James Coody and wife Betsy; grandchildren John Elliott, Brielle Coody, Jade Coody and Gage Coody; aunt Evangeline Coody Sealy; nephews Warren Coody, Mike Knauss, Clay Knauss, and Royce Coody; nieces, Glynda Coody Stanford, Carol Coody, Bonnie Knauss, Penny Coody, Shannon Coody Evans; lifelong friends Margaret Bishop, Danie Roberts and family and Giggs Brown and family; numerous other cherished family members and faithful friends throughout the years. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 02, 2012, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Pastor Brent Wilson will preside over funeral services being held Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Everyone will dismiss and meet for a graveside service at 1:00 p.m., San Felipe Cemetery, 15079 FM 1458, San Felipe, Texas. Pallbearers include Nathan Roberts, Royce Coody, Joe Todd Canada, Greg Evans, Walter Duke, and Robert Bosko; honorary pallbearers include Gage Coody and John Elliott.
