Betty Joyce Husted

Betty Joyce Husted, 83, of Dayton passed away September 19, 2020 peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. She was born September 23, 1936 in Newport News, Virginia to parents Essie and Maude Castellow.

Betty attended and graduated from Newport News High School. She worked early on as a model and waitress. Later at the Newport News Shipyard and Beltway 8 Toll Bridge before it was sold to Harris County.

Betty enjoyed antiques and even co-owned an antique resale shop after retiring from the Toll Bridge. She worked for friends business' including Bab's Resale Shop in Dayton, Texas. She retired to be home and enjoy traveling with her husband. Betty’s one hobby throughout life was collecting turtles, she absolutely loved turtles.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn Husted and her daughter Dianna McClelland. She is survived by her children, son, Chuck Sparrow and his children, Christopher, Corren and Cruz McClelland; daughter, Annette Halttunen and husband Andrew of Plymouth, Michigan and their children, John Andrew and Campbell Anne Halttunen; son, Brian McClelland and his children Connor, Mallory, Kyle and Ayden McClelland; step-son, Tim Husted of College Station, Texas and his children Skylar, Brittany, Kalysto, Cassie, and Colton; step-daughter, Tamra Laramore and husband Mark of Belleville, Illinois and their children, Alicia and Corwin; step-son, Terry Husted; also numerous great friends that she loved dearly. Betty will be missed immensely by all.

There are no services scheduled at this time. Arrangement are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas.
