Billy Gene Welch, 48, of Liberty died Tuesday, October 10, 2017 Katy.

Billy was born March 16, 1969 in Dayton, Texas to parents, William A. Welch, Sr. and Lillie Maxey Welch. He was a lifetime resident of Liberty and had worked as a roughneck.

Services for Billy will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Bible Way Church in Liberty with interment to follow at Monroe Fregia Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents: William A. Welch, Sr. and Lillie Maxey Welch; grandparents: Newt and Ferlie Maxey and Charlie and Sally Welch; also his granddaughter: Mackenzie Edmonds. He is survived by his son: Billy Welch; his daughter: Kelly Welch; brothers: William E. Welch, Mark E. Welch; Emmitt L. Welch and William A. Welch, Jr.; sisters: Ferlie Fregia, Vidor Burch, Betty Henderson, Carolyn Nugent, and Loretta Hilton; grandchildren: Hunter Edmonds, Dixie Edmonds, Daisy Edmonds, and Remington Edmonds; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
