Charles William Coburn

Charles “Charlie” William Coburn, age 87 and a resident of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Conroe Medical Center. He was born in Huntsville, Texas on October 12, 1925. He was a distinguished WWII Veteran of the United States Merchant Marine. He was a boiler maker by trade in the construction industry. Mr. Coburn was a tender hearted man and was deeply devoted to his family. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years Doris Marie Coburn; his daughter Baby Girl Coburn; daughters-in-law Mickie Coburn and LaWanda Coburn; his parents Charlie and Susie Coburn; sister Margaret Baker; and his great-grandchildren Jeremy Atkinson and Katelynn Rhea. Survivors include his sons Charles “Sparky” Coburn and wife Shele, William “Billy” Coburn and wife Carleen, Philip “Jesse” Coburn; sister Francis Canough; grandchildren Brenda Coburn Atkinson, Buckey Coburn and Karla, Bubba Coburn and Leana, Christy Coburn Rhea and Kenny, Misty Coburn Daniels and Jason, Randy Coburn and Heather, Carolyn “CiCi” Carpenter and Jake; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other cherished family members and faithful friends beyond measure. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 14, 2013, 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Ray Hyden and Judge James Metts will preside over funeral services being held Monday, July 15, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Chapel with interment following at Security Cemetery, Security, Texas. Pallbearers include Buckey Coburn, Bubba Coburn, Randy Coburn, Brad Tullis, Jason Daniels, Johnny Graham, Tracy Graham, and Stephen Graham; honorary pallbearers Richard Jordan and Montie Graham.
