Debra Fox Thomas

Debra Fox Thomas of Evergreen, Texas was born on March 16, 1954 to parents, Leslie Leo Fox and Minnie Ruth Stokely Fox. Debra went to her heavenly home on September 13, 2022 at the age of 68.

Debra and her mother, Ruth Fox joined the Evergreen Baptist Church in 1996. Debra joined the church choir, sharing her rich alto voice, and faithfully sang with them until her death. She served as assistant choir director and loved using the musical training she gained through the years by attending annual music schools and four-part shape-note gospel music singing conventions. She was also a member of the Evergreen Study & Stitchery Club and cherished her involvement with neighbors and community friends. Debra and her mother Ruth added so much joy to the Evergreen Church fellowship. Debra was a devoted wife, mother and daughter and loved her family deeply. Her mother, Ruth, lived with her for many years and Debra cared for her selflessly until Ms. Ruth passed away. Debra's absence from this Earth will be felt deeply by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie Leo Fox and Minnie Ruth Stokely Fox and her husband, Ollie George Thomas. She leaves behind her loving sons, Christopher Thomas and wife Jody, Corey Thomas and wife, Leslie, Hunter Boyd and wife Tina; brothers, Jeff Fox and Craig Fox; grandchildren, Mariah Thomas, Jillian Thomas, Isabella Thomas, Chloe Thomas, and Tiffany; great grandchildren, Elliott Thomas, Liam Thomas, Abel Thomas, and Tehya.

Visitation will take place on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 10:00am at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland, Texas. A funeral service will follow on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at the Evergreen Cemetery in Coldspring, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Evergreen Baptist Church in Coldspring, Texas in her honor.
