Elizabeth Scott Burton

July 10, 1951 — April 25, 2015

Elizabeth Scott Burton, long-time resident of Houston, Texas passed away Saturday morning the 25th of April at her home in Coldspring, Texas. Born July 10th 1951, in Corpus Christy, Texas to Norma Jean Pelton and Robert Preston Scott Junior, she was a free spirit that brought light and love to everyone around her. Elizabeth is survived by her husband Mike Burton; her daughter Ashley McMahon and husband Lex and their daughters Addison and Kiley; her daughter Kathryn Leger and husband Chris and their daughter Abigail; her sister Priscilla Scott; her brother Robert Preston Scott III and wife Deanna and their daughters Hannah, Marian and Amelia; her Uncle Bobby Pelton and Aunt Colleen; and Aunt Stell Earney. The Memorial Service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, April 28th at Grace Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas with Reverend Mike Fry. There will be a Celebration of Life immediately following. A gathering will be held at 10am on Wednesday, April 29th at Pace Stancil Chapel in Coldspring, Texas. A procession will follow at 11am for an interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Coldspring, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation be made in Elizabeth’s name to Lung Cancer Research at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
