Jerry Wayne Favors

Jerry W. Favors, 58, of Highlands, died Sunday, August 25, 2013, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home with burial following at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Jerry was born June 15, 1955 in Dayton, to parents; Jesse C. Favors, Sr. and Norma Detro, a former resident of Devers, and has resided in Highlands for the past 13 years. He was a graduate of the Dayton High School class of 1974 and a machinist at Exxon in Baytown. He also enjoyed motorcycles, sports, cook offs, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Favors was preceded in death by his father: Jesse C. Favors, Sr., mother: Norma Detro Ross, grandfather: Ed Columbus Favors, brother: Jesse C. Favors, Jr., and stepbrother: Joe Greeby. He is survived by his son: Justin Favors and wife Leslie of Highlands, daughters: Kim Wells and husband Brandon of Buffalo and Jennifer Peterson of Nacogdoches, brother: Larry Favors of Mexia, sisters: Sherry Favors Sneed and husband Martin of Highlands, Jessica Favors of AR, and Cindy Glover and husband Ken of Livingston, grandchildren: Jackson Favors, Kinley Favors, Abby Favors, Kade Peterson, and one on the way, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Jude’s or Shriner’s Hospitals, in Jerry’s name.
