Lloyd Bryant, age 87, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Thursday, August 02, 2012 at his home.Visitation will be held Saturday, August 05, 2012, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Coldspring, Texas. Rev. Mariann Rayne will preside over funeral services being held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 05, 2012 at Paul Horton Methodist Church, Stephen Creek, Texas with interment following at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers include Ray Currie, Ray Currie, Andrew Harrell, Noah Gladden Jr., Charles Harrell, Ben Currie Jr.,Gary Barker Jr., and Curtis Cain Jr.; honorary pallbearer includes James Ray Currie.Mr. Bryant was born April 27, 1925 in Huntsville, Texas to parents Edgar Lee Bryant and Laura Lee Anderson Bryant who preceded him in death. He served his community as District Forester in the Texas Forestry Service. He was a lifelong resident of the Coldspring community where he and his wife Annie raised two sons. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and steadfast friend; he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.Mr. Bryant; a distinguished Veteran of the United States Army, served in WWII from 1943-1945 in Company C 68th Armored Infantry Battalion at Central Europe, Ardennes, Rhineland, Normandy, and Northern France battles. He was decorated with the Silver Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, European, African, Middle Eastern (EAME) Campaign Medal with (5) Bronze Stars, Purple Heart Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge with (4) Oak Leaf Clusters. With respectful gratitude for a life shared and now blessedly at rest, and with heartfelt praise in memory of Mr. Lloyd Bryant, he will always be remembered.He is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife Annie Lois Bryant; and daughter-in-law Cheryl Bryant. Survivors include his sons Larry Leon Bryant, Lloyd Leon Bryant and wife Tonya; grandchildren Adrianne Bryant, Dustin Bryant, and Gary Barker Jr.; special friend Katie Roark; numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and faithful friends throughout the years.
