Lucille Hylton Tyler

November 29, 1922 — February 11, 2017

Ora “Lucille” Hylton Tyler, 94, of Liberty went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 11, 2017.

The family will receive friends, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Private family services will follow on another date.

Lucille was born November 29, 1922 in Moss Bluff, Texas to parents, Volney Robert Hylton, Sr. and Fae Alva Anderson Hylton. She was a lifelong resident of Liberty County and was a graduate of Liberty High School. She loved God, her family and her friends. Lucille was always caring for others, looking to God for guidance when she saw someone in need. She was a published poet, song writer, and enjoyed playing the piano and guitar. Lucille always had a project working whether it was her writings or the many crafts she had going. One of her favorite pass times was garage sales. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.

Mrs. Tyler was preceded in death by her parents, her children’s father, Doyle Davis, her late husband, Edwin Tyler; brother, Roy Hylton, and sisters, Margie Liddell and Elizabeth Hylton. She is survived by her brothers, V.R. Hylton, Jr. and wife Jean of Liberty, Billy Hylton and wife Beverly Hylton of Liberty; her daughter, Glenda Sjolander and husband Bill of Dayton; son, Robert Dale Davis and wife Valerie of Dayton; grandchildren, Sherri Sjolander Kruse and husband Ray, Mark Sjolander and wife Bridget, Mindy Sjolander Rogers and husband Don, Leslie Davis Danaher, Heather Davis Currie, Kimberly Davis O’Neal and husband Marcus, and Alan Davis and wife Jessica; great-grandchildren, Jenni Clark, Matthew Sjolander, Alyssa Sjolander, Katie Clark, Timothy Sjolander, Reagan Currie, Riley Currie, Kinsley Muller, and Lilla Davis; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
