Morris Olen Tullis, Jr.

Morris Olen Tullis, Jr., age 78 of Onalaska, Texas passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020. He was born May 27, 1942 in Cleveland Texas to parents Archie and M.O. Tullis, Sr. who preceded him in death.

Morris, Mo, Babe, Daddy, Papa all names for a man that wore each of these names proudly.

Mo was a construction superintendent for all of his adult life, adding many notable structures to the Texas horizon.

He was an incredible craftsman that was always willing to help anyone in need - be it a handicap ramp for an ailing friend or a young person with a school project, he was there to help.

Mo was an avid outdoorsman. Fishing and hunting were his passion, one that he shared with us all. Whether it be to teach or to share in the bounty of his passion.

This man was a storyteller, which always began with his laughing before he ever spoke a word. But you could count on those stories to also sprinkle some wisdom in as a benefit of just being with Mo.

Mo loved the Lord and was quick to share that faith. You knew you were in the presence of a righteous man when with Mo. He set his standards high and led by example. This man opened his heart and home to more than one soul in need.

We are all so blessed to have been loved and befriended by the one and only Mo. Your teachings will live on.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann Tullis; son, Mark Owen Tullis and wife Donna; daughter, Marion Fleming; grandchildren, Kendall Stein and husband Grant, Kristen Moore and husband Mo Zagouti, Adam Moore and wife Melissa, and Amie Gafford; great-grandchildren, Logan Stein, Kylie Stein, Brooklin Moore, Conner Moore and Kylie Moore; dog, Rusty; cat, Tommy Tom; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 3, 2020 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Splendora City Cemetery, Splendora, Texas.
