Oliver "Jr" Cox

Oliver “JR” Cox, age 79 of Houston, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021. He was born December 21, 1942, in Howe, Oklahoma to parents Lena and Oliver Cox, Sr. who preceded him in death along with his 4 brothers and 1 sister; nephew, George Owens; and granddaughters, Kelly and Kimberly Smith.

JR served his country in the US Army. He was a resident of Houston for 60 years and worked for Bell Hot Shot Delivery Inc. for 35 years.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Lavern Cox; children, Vincent Craig McClelland and wife Patsy, Gary Smith and wife Vickie, Curtis Smith and wife Belinda, Bruce Raymond Cox and Deborah Cox; sisters, Nina Ray and Laved Aab; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday, January 3, 2022, at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.
