Oscar Lee Bingham, 75, of Dayton, died Sunday, January 30, 2011, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 3, 2011, at the First Baptist Church of Dayton with burial following at the Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Oscar was born February 28, 1935 in Spurger, to parents; James H., Jr. and Cora Grissom Bingham, a former resident of Liberty, and has resided in Dayton for the past 45 years. He was a graduate of the Hull-Daisetta High School class of 1955, a retired operator for Chevron after 30 years of employment, and member of the First Baptist Church. He also enjoyed RV travel, camping, fishing, squirrel hunting, and wood working. Mr. Bingham was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Tina DuBose, great-granddaughter: Sydney Vargo, and sisters: Mildred Ramer and Naomi Barrett. He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Joyce Keener Bingham of Dayton, sons: Ricky Lee Bingham and wife Sandra of Burleson and Timmy Lee Bingham of Ft. Worth, grandchildren: Matthew Bingham, John DuBose, and Melissa Vargo, great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Kenzie, Emily, Addison, and Broden Vargo, sister: Mary Vinson of MS, brother: James H. Bingham, Jr. of Jasper, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
