Sam Foster

Surrounded by his family, Sam Foster, age 50 of Splendora, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021. He was born October 5, 1970, in Overton, Texas, and was raised by parents Charles and Joyce (Lambert) Foster, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Lahoma Guerra.

Sam graduated from Hudson High School in 1989 and Angelina Junior College in 1996. He went on to work for American Hofmann Corporation for 25 years as a Field Service Engineer. Recently, Sam wrote, “work is like a vacation, except I don’t get to go where I want, do what I want, or have you (his wife and children) with me.” Don’t let this statement fool you; Sam loved his job. He loved to travel! Sam loved that his job allowed him the opportunity to see the world. Moreover, he loved to take his family on vacations. He wanted to share the places he enjoyed with them.

Sam was a loving and caring husband, dad, Pappy, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved his family and many friends fiercely and unconditionally. He always had time to lend an ear or offer advice. Sam was intelligent, quick-witted, and had a sense of humor that kept those around him laughing. He had an infectious smile and gave the best hugs. Sam loved to hunt, fish, and play pool, especially with family and friends.

Sam will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 29 years, Lisa Foster; daughter, Mikaela Guthrie and husband Jeromy; son, Mason Foster; sisters, Belinda Sparkman, Kacie Arbuckle and husband Russell; brothers, Harold Renfro and wife Diane, Malcolm Guerra and wife Darla, Christopher Renfro and wife Rebecca; grandchildren, Dalton Guthrie and Parker Guthrie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Sam will be missed by all.
