Thomas W. “Tommy” Chandler, 65, of Kenefick, died Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with burial following at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Tommy was born September 18, 1945 in Baytown, to parents; Luther W. and Ollie Mae Neiderhofer Chandler, was a former resident of Highlands, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 32 years. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, a retired heavy equipment operator for Harris County Pct. 2 after 35 years of employment, member of the First Baptist Church and the Dayton Young Farmers. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and his work. Mr. Chandler was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 43 years: Emily Jaks Chandler of Kenefick, sons: Clint Chandler and wife Sandy of Kenefick, Chad Chandler and wife Ashley of N.C., and Dustin Chandler of Kenefick, grandchildren: Ashley, J.D., Hunter, Kayla, Cecilia, and Mitch, great-grandchildren: Madalynn and Carson, sisters: Barbara Talley and husband Jack of Kenefick, Elaine Laird and husband Pinky of Moss Bluff, and Charlene Hooper and husband Van of Highlands, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
