Adolph Reyes

May 30, 1932 — July 9, 2025

Emblem

Adolph Robles Reyes was born in the middle of a cotton field in Seguin, Texas during the lowest point of the Great Depression. He quit school after only finishing 6th grade to take on a man’s job, despite his father’s frustration. From ditch digger on up, he learned from his sweat, struggles and sacrifices.

He was drafted into the US Army and volunteered to fight in the Korean War, but due to a typo, was deployed to West Germany where he became the Battalion Commander's Tank Driver. Upon discharge he married the woman who would spend the next 70 years by his side. With a wife, mortgage, and three boys to feed, he dedicated his life to their benefit.

As time passed, his boys turned into men and raised their own families giving him nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. That education he ran from so long ago finally took hold and several of his grandchildren achieved academic & professional success. Although having only a 6th grade education and a strong back, his lineage and legacy is academic success, mental toughness and a persevering work ethic.

Adolph is survived by his devoted wife of 70 years, Rose Marie Reyes; his sons, Michael James Reyes and his wife Theresa, and Eddie Daniel Reyes; his sister, Beatrice Jimenez; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Marie Reyes; his son, Albert Anthony Reyes; brothers, Richard Reyes and Robert Reyes.
