Allen Gail White

Allen Gail White, 76, of Kenefick, TX, passed away on March 28th, 2026. Born on July 2, 1949, at Dayton Memorial Hospital, Gail was the beloved son of Wayne Patrick and Gladys Mae Simmons White.

Gail went to Dayton High School and at 16 years old started his career as an 18-wheeler driver and shortly after married the love of his life, Lynda. Beyond his professional life, Gail found joy in boating, hunting, fishing, and spending time at “camp”, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Gail was the kind of man you couldn’t help but love, steady, strong, and always ready with a good laugh. A true hard worker, he spent 55 years of his life behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler, proudly earning his living on the open road. He took pride in his career, and his work ethic was second to none. Gail was honored by his employer with high praise for his exceptional work ethic and character. It was stated, “he never asks what a load pays and is always available—day or night—whenever needed. He willingly assists by reviewing jobs for other trucks and supporting fellow drivers. Known for his jovial personality, Gail brings positivity wherever he goes. He has been described as the best “driver-salesman” anyone could ask for. Working every day in Houston is no easy task—some say he deserves combat pay—but true to form, Gail would never ask for it.”

But when the long days were over, nothing mattered more to Gail than his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was a quiet evening at home or a family gathering filled with stories, jokes, and laughter. He also had a deep love for his dogs—Buster, Cowboy, and Fancy—who have all passed, as well as the many “grand dogs” he adored.

Gail was a man’s man, tough when life demanded it, dependable in every way, and always willing to lend a hand or share advice born from experience. Yet beneath that rugged exterior was a heart full of humor. He was a natural jokester, known for keeping everyone around him smiling no matter the circumstance.

Those who knew Gail will remember him for his devotion, his grit, and his laughter, the kind that could fill a room and lighten any load. His legacy will live on in the love he gave, the hard work he modeled, and the joy he shared so freely with others.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lynda Cunill White, Son: Troy Allen White, wife Dawn. Daughter: Kalena Jo Leonard, husband Denton. Grandson: Clay Allen Leonard and fiancé Carson. Brother: Norman Wayne White, wife Patsy. Sister: Beverly Sackett, husband Jerry. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Curtis Delane White and James Lynn White.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, and a graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington.

Forever in our hearts.
