Amanda Nicole Moore August 15, 1990 – September 20, 2025
Amanda Nicole Moore, 35, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on September 20, 2025.
Amanda was born on August 15, 1990, in Houston, Texas, to parents James Sweeney and Myrna Herrick. She spent most of her life in Dayton, with her early childhood in Cleveland. A proud graduate of Dayton High School, Amanda was an active student-athlete, participating in both volleyball and basketball.
After high school, she pursued work as a florist, where her creativity and eye for beauty flourished. She later served as a security guard for Exxon before finding her true calling as a paraprofessional in the Special Education Department at Richter Elementary. For the past five years, Amanda was deeply devoted to her students, lovingly referring to them as her "babies." Her kind heart and patient spirit touched countless young lives.
Amanda was happiest outdoors—whether it was camping, fishing, working in her yard, tending to her garden, or caring for the family pool. She had a green thumb and a strong love for animals, especially her beloved dog Daisy and her kittens. A Disney fan at heart, The Lion King was her favorite movie.
Above all, Amanda was a dedicated wife and mother. She and her husband, Robert Moore, were together for 17 years and married for 15, a bond Robert lovingly described as "his blessing." Her greatest joy came from being with Robert and their two sons, Tristen and Lane. She was their biggest fan, never missing a game and proudly wearing the title of “sports mom.”
Amanda is preceded in death by her mother, Myrna Herrick King; grandparents Mallie "Honey" Herrick and Floyd "Pooh" Herrick; and Herb and Lillie Mortensen.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Moore; her sons, Tristen Moore and Lane Moore; her father, James Sweeney and stepmother, Sactricia Sweeney; brothers, Lyle Sweeney and fiancée Kathryn Soles; sister, Rebecca Stone; special aunt and uncle, Regina and Ray Laboeuf; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Amanda’s warmth, strength, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. also at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.
In honoring Amanda’s life, may we continue to share her love, joy, and compassion with others.
