April Michelle Burkhalter, age 39, passed away on April 1, 2026. She was born on March 29, 1987, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Darrel Lee Robinson and Betty Joe Robinson.
April was a devoted wife, loving mother, faithful servant of God, and cherished friend to many. She was a member and the pastor’s wife of First Assembly of God in Channelview, where she poured her heart into ministry. April was especially passionate about teaching recovery, a calling that reflected her compassion and desire to help others find healing and hope. She also helped lead worship and faithfully served wherever she was needed within the church.
April graduated high school in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business from Western Governors University. She had been a resident of Cleveland for the past year and a half and previously lived in Alvin.
She had a creative spirit and enjoyed cross stitching, but above all, her greatest joy was her family. April deeply loved her children and was passionate about raising and supporting them. She had a radiant smile, a wonderful sense of humor, and a fun-loving personality that brought joy to those around her. She was a devoted and loving wife.
She is preceded in death by her son, Kenneth James Burkhalter; her grandparents; her brother, Glenn Maddux; brother-in-law, James Maddux and her mother-in-law, Joice Hernandez.
April is survived by her husband of 18 years, Robert Burkhalter; her parents, Darrel Lee Robinson and Betty Joe Robinson; her children, Jacob Daniel Burkhalter and his fiancée, Faith; Jacob Aaron Behne; Alyssa Danielle Burkhalter; Amelia Grace Burkhalter; Brelynn Faith Burkhalter; and Kadence Marie Behne. She is also survived by her brothers, Devin Robinson, Daniel Robinson, and Kenny Robinson; her nephews, Carrington Wayne Burkhalter and his wife, Monica, and Robert Maddux; her niece, Sheena Stewart; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
April’s life was a testament to faith, love, and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on April 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at First Assembly of God in Channelview, with a funeral service to follow at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. The service will be officiated by Pastor Charlie Tutt of East Houston Revival Center.
