Barbara Stripling

Barbara Stripling, 87, passed away on May 17th, 2025. Barbara was born to parents Louis Crippens and Nannie Belle Constable Crippens on November 10th, 1937 in Santa Anna, Texas.

Barbara grew up in Cleveland from a very young age. She worked at Cleveland Bank and Trust, now called Prosperity Bank, for about 30 years. She also worked at the San Jacinto County Courthouse. She was very active at the church of Christ in Shepherd cooking for anyone’s needs, teaching, and serving in any way she could. Family was very important to her. She enjoyed cooking for everyone and having grandchildren over for Easter Egg Hunts and Christmas.

Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Weaver Stripling; parents, Louis and Nannie Belle Crippens; grandson, BW Stripling, brothers, Leonard Leon Crippens, Robert Lee Crippens, Lloyd Herman Crippens, George William Crippens; sisters, Wilma Crippens McSmith, Geneva Crippens Mize, Joyce Earline Crippens Chambers McCarty, Mary Elizabeth Crippens. She is survived by her sons, Billy Wayne Stripling, Warren Stripling and wife Mindy; daughter, Janet Donovan and husband Paul; grandchildren, Angela Kinder and husband Robert, Melissa Jones and husband Josh, Sarah Adame and husband Paul, Andrew Donovan and wife Sarah, Caitlin Donovan and fiancé Brian, Jessica Stripling, Toby Stripling and wife Lindi; great-grandchildren, Carter, Jackson, Will, Brady, George, Edith, Addy, Brooke, Laney, Jewel, Cami, and Carter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation for Barbara will be held on Friday, May 23rd from 10 am - 11 am at Shepherd Church of Christ in Shepherd, Texas. The funeral service will immediately follow on Friday, May 23rd at 11 am at Shepherd Church of Christ in Shepherd, Texas. Mrs. Stripling will be laid to rest at Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas. Those chosen to serve as pallbearers are Andrew Donovan, Toby Stripling, Carter Jones, Jackson Jones, Will Sheppard, Brady Sheppard. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Wayne and Warren Stripling.
