Benny Davis “Ben†Lack, 65, of Dayton, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015, a the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at the Palms Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Ben was born March 28, 1949 in Birmingham, Alabama, to parents; Ben F. and Betty Sue Cole Lack, a former resident of Pasadena, and has resided in Dayton for the past 12 years. He was a veteran of the US Army, truck driver for American Road Transportation, and attended the Maranatha Church. He also enjoyed fishing, 4-wheelers, and remote controlled vehicles. Mr. Lack was preceded in death by his parents, grandson: Trent Newman, sister: Kay Denton, and brother: Tab Lack. He is survived by his wife of 30 years: Debra Freeman Lack of Dayton, daughters: Julia Lack of Pearland, Sheila Carpenter and husband Brett of Baytown, and Carrie Smith of Alabama, brother: Merle Lack and wife Debra of Pearland, grandchildren: Heather Kelly and John Holcomb, Dylan Myers, Austin McMillan, Drake Smith, Trey Newman, and Kadence Smith, great-grandchildren: Tyler Holcomb, Breanna Holcomb, and Kaleigh Holcomb, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
