Betty June Laird Andrews, age 78, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026. Betty was born on March 24, 1948, in Harris County, Texas, to James B. Laird and Elsie Quine Laird. She spent more than 30 years making her home in Trinity, Texas, where she lived a simple and peaceful life surrounded by the people and things she loved most.
Betty was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and warm nature. She never met a stranger and was always willing to offer kindness to those around her. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially staying at home, crocheting, coloring, and collecting jewelry. She dearly loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. Betty also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, who brought her comfort and companionship throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James B. Laird and Elsie Quine Laird; her husband of 32 years, James Andrews; her infant daughter, Misty Andrews; her brothers, Donnie Armstrong and John Laird; and her sisters, Beatrice Bradley, Barbara Reger, and Debbie Dodd.
Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother, Billy Laird; her sisters, Surba Ramos and Wanda Fearrand; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation for Betty will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Liberty.
Betty's kindness, loving heart, and gentle presence will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
