Betty Ann Brown, 69, of Silsbee, Texas, passed away on March 28, 2026.
Betty was born on June 28, 1956, to Leonard Leslie Moss and Joy Julene Morgan. She attended schools in Kountze and spent much of her life in Southeast Texas, living in Silsbee for eight years and previously residing in Dayton.
Betty was married to the love of her life, Ernest Brown, for 21 years. She was a member of Caney Head Baptist Church in Silsbee. Betty was proud of her kitchen and loved cooking for those she cared about. She especially enjoyed participating in cookoffs and helping with benefit events, often being the first to volunteer. Her famous potato salad became well known at many gatherings. Betty also enjoyed playing in multiple pool leagues, fishing, crabbing, and spending time at the beach.
She loved her family and friends deeply and was known for being outspoken, kind-hearted, and always willing to help others.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Leslie Moss and Joy Julene Morgan; her sister, Sharon Lee Morgan; her daughter, Laurie Ann Overstreet; and her grandsons, Christopher Wayne Ryan and Coty Lynn Ryan. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Ernest Brown; her sons, Craig Castilaw, David Castilaw, and Donny Brown and wife Lynn; her daughter, Michelle Tanner and husband Clifford; her grandchildren, Courtney Bean and husband Daniel, Mandi Cooper and husband Ethan, Whitney Rawls and husband Kagen, Truett Tanner, and David Castilaw; and her great-grandchildren, Addison, Wyatt, Noel, Cutter, Aaliyah, Evie, Major, and Ragen. She is also survived by her nieces, Christina Pope and husband Chris, and Angie Giles, along with numerous other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 1:30 PM at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Tilton Cemetery in Cove (Old River), Texas.
