Betty Jo Butler

Betty Jo Butler was born February 8, 1940 in Cleveland, Texas to parents, Luby Bert Squiers and Linnie Mae McGinnis Squiers. She went to her Heavenly Home on September 26, 2024 in Beaumont, Texas at the age of 84 years.

Betty loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. She loved feeding her deer out in the yard every day with Robert and they never missed a feeding. Both of her sons raced at the dirt track, and she loved watching and cheering them on. She even raced and won a few powder puffs herself, even if it took a little bit of aggressive driving to get the trophy. When it came to racing, she was also a huge Nascar fan, and her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Jr.

She loved going to the casino and playing slot machines, pulling the lever on her Sizzling Sevens machine and loved playing her favorite card game Hand and Foot with friends and family.

Betty was an awesome Mother and Memaw and was known in her later years as Memaw to everyone. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luby and Linnie Squiers; husband, William Edgar Butler; daughter, Susan Denise Pearson; grandson, William Jason Jackson; brothers, Junior Squiers and Shank Squiers; sisters, Tootsie Duff and Rita Fae Stewart.

Betty is survived by her beloved sons, Joe Edgar Butler and wife Biddie, and William Davy Butler and wife Sabrina; grandchildren, Rhonda Millican and her husband Clint, Roy Jackson, Joe Butler Jr and his wife Rachel, Tiffany McIntyre and her husband Joseph, Shane Pearson, and April Cannon and her husband Michael; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Brittani, Caleigh, Joseph Jr, Shelbie, Trevin, Ravin, Waycee, Laynee, Jadyn, Tammy, Tanner, Jason, Zachary, Lil Roy; great great-grandchildren, Hadley and Harlyn; special friend, Robert Knight and his family, Brenda Knight and her husband James, Debra Russell, Robert Lee Knight Jr and his wife Connie, William Kent Knight and his wife Sharan, Pam Hutto and her husband Doug, and Douglas Knight and his wife Rhonda; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
