Betty J. Matthews Hayes of Coldspring, Texas passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the age of 93. She was born January 3, 1929 to parents Elgin Matthews and Alzada Avery both preceded her in death along with her husband, Byron Hayes; son, Clinton Hayes; and daughter-in-law, Laura Hayes. She is survived by her son, Michael Hayes; daughter, Laurie Webb; on granddaughter, and two greatgrandchildren. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 5pm – 7pm at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Coldspring. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 10am at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Coldspring. Interment will follow be at Hayman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to St. Lukes Children’s Hospital
