Betty Sue Whitten, age 82 of Shepherd, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016. She was born August 5, 1934 in Talladega, AL to parents Louie Stephens and Myrtle Wyatt Stephens who preceded her in death along with her husband, Pete Whitten; sons, Whit Whitten, Rex Whitten, and Jerry Whitten; sister, Sara Moon; and brother, Ronald Stephens.
Survivors include her daughters, Willie Jean Fowler, Myrtle Sue Verwold and husband Glenn Verwold, Linda Faye Phillips and husband Butch Phillips, Connie Dean and husband Anthony Dean,
Samantha Keith and husband Anthony Keith; son, Danny Ray Whitten; grandchildren, Paul Hazelwood, Eric Fowler, Alice Fowler, Anthony Whitten, Chad Whitten, Brett Whitten, Melinda Scott, Cindy Ingle, Glenda Cole, Crissy Serrata, Melissa Washington, Tiffany Whitten, Heath Whitten, Lacey Whitten, Mandy Whitten, Toni Whitten, Katrina Whitten, Kimberly Whitten, Daniel Whitten, Tammy Findley, Thomas Dean, Michael Dean and Jarvis Green; 42 ½ great-grandchildren, 23 great great-grandchildren, 6 sisters, 3 brothers, 3 daughter-in-laws, numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2016 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Farley Chapel Cemetery, Shepherd, Texas.
