Billie Newcomb, age 83, of Conroe, Texas, passed away peacefully March 26, 2026, with family by her side for days before her passing. She will be greatly missed.
Billie was born in Lilbert, Texas on January 6, 1943, to Letha Faye Smith and Edgar Deal Smith. Billie was the 2nd of four siblings. Her family lived in Houston Texas where she attended school, including Smiley High School. Shortly after Graduating High School, she married Dieudonne Melancon and had 3 sons: Donny, Glenn and Randy. On Thanksgiving 1965 she lost her husband and two brother-in-laws in a car accident. Two years later, she met Johnny Newcomb and were married on February 18,1967. Billie and Johnny adopted a fourth son, Jerry, in 1972.
Billie loved family and enjoyed getting together during the holidays. She looked forward to attending family reunions and interacting with extended family members every year. When it came to vacation, Billie and Johnny enjoyed taking cruises and going on road trips to Branson Missouri. Billie was a faithful servant of God and a member at Mims Baptist Church for years and was part of their choir. She changed churches and became a member of First Baptist Church of Conroe where she enjoyed socializing with lifelong friends.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Edger Smith and Letha Faye Smith; her husband’s Dieudonne Melancon and Johnny Newcomb; her son Glenn Newcomb. Billie is survived by brother Jimmy Smith; her sisters Ginger Massey and Linda Brannon; her children Donny Newcomb and wife Jane, Randy Melancon-Newcomb and wife Deanna, Jerry Newcomb and wife Denise. Her grandchildren, Shelly Blakely and husband Joe, Angela Newcomb, Alan Newcomb and wife Mallory, Daniel Newcomb and fiancé Raelee, Ashley Newcomb and fiancé Max, Chayenne Newcomb, James Cothran, Betty Sellers.
Her great-grandchildren, Luke Newcomb, Tristan Canales, Brielle Canales, Daxton Espinoza, Adelyn Espinoza, Alexander.
Visitation will be held in the Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland, Texas on Saturday, April 11th from 10:00am-12:00 pm. The funeral service will be at 12pm in the Pace-Stancil Chapel. The graveside service will follow at Moss Hill Cemetery in Moss Hill, TX.
