Boyd Allen Parish, 80, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026. He was born on October 15, 1945, in Waco, Texas, to Marvin Eugene Parish and Gnell Williams.
Boyd lived a full and active life, finding joy in the simple pleasures that meant the most to him. He loved camping, riding his motorcycle, and taking vacations—especially trips to Branson and Panama City. An avid fisherman, Boyd was happiest with a line in the water. He also had a strong interest in the stock market and followed it closely over the years.
He dedicated many years of hard work to his career before retiring from Verizon. In retirement, Boyd took great pride in keeping his yard perfectly maintained—mowing the lawn was more than a chore; it was a passion. He enjoyed spending time watching his favorite shows, including “Gunsmoke” and “Cops,” and cherished the companionship of his beloved dog, Cody.
Above all, Boyd deeply loved his family. He treasured time spent with his grandchildren and took great pride in attending their football games and supporting their activities.
Boyd was preceded in death by his parents and his five siblings: Gene, Joy, Marshall, Dan, and Don.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Denise Parish; his sons, Stephen Parish and wife Kristin, and Chad Cassidy and wife Summer; his daughters, Ange Payne, and Lynette Croft and husband Glen; and his cherished grandchildren: Cameron Payne, Kayley Payne, Brody Payne, Cooper Payne, Colton Parish, Natalie Parish, Gage Parish, Liam Parish, Masen Henderson, Leslie Gosney, Kaitlyn Thibodeaux, Cody Croft, Wade Cassidy, Hank Cassidy, and Harlon Cassidy.
A visitation service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m.
