Brenda Lee Allen, 65, of Dayton, passed away on April 11, 2026. She was born on September 3, 1960, in Garland, Texas, to Elbert Ross Slaydon and Cora Lee Baggett.
Brenda was a devoted member of Christian Faith Church and lived a life rooted in faith, family, and joy. She had a deep love for gardening, especially flowers, and found great happiness in spending time with her family. Brenda enjoyed reading and had a spirit for adventure—she loved to travel, zipline, and white-water raft. She also had a special love for horses and cherished all of her pets.
A graduate of Deer Park High School, Brenda spent 35 years as a resident of Dayton and previously lived in Pasadena.
Known affectionately as “Sweetie” by her family, she was lovingly called “Grandpa Sweetie” by her grandchildren—a title that reflected her fun-loving and unique spirit.
She was preceded in death by her father, Elbert Ross Slaydon, and her siblings, Belinda, Ronald, and Donald.
Brenda is survived by her mother, Cora Lee Baggett; her daughter, Randi “Dani” Allen and husband Michael Bechtel; her brothers, Bubba Slaydon and wife Jeanna, and Jason Slaydon and wife Misty; her sister, Bonnie Hensley and husband David; her beloved grandchildren, Juniper Bechtel, Logan Bechtel, and Carter Bechtel; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, with Pastor Allen Young officiating.
