Brenda Joyce Venegas

Brenda Joyce Venegas nee Winthrop of Liberty, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 in Liberty. Services for Mrs. Venegas will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 29 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton. Visitation will be Monday, September 28 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Brenda was born January 22, 1957, in Lufkin, Angelina County, Texas, to parents, Charles David and Lena Lane Winthrop. Brenda was a wife, mother and homemaker. She took great joy in her family, especially her grandchildren. Brenda loved to sit outside with a cup of coffee and watch the birds that came to visit her lawn. Mrs. Venegas is survived by her husband, Gerardo “Jerry” Venegas of Liberty; sons, Jason Finley and wife Bethany and Aaron Venegas; daughters, Katie Thornton and husband, Dustin and Ashley Gruver and husband, Austin; grandchildren: Colton Gruver, Madison and Maci Thornton, Easton and Avery Venegas, Jayce, Savanna, Mickayla and Brandon Finley; brothers : Charles Winthrop and wife, Mary Ronnie Winthrop and wife, Connie, and Larry Winthrop and wife, Tammy; sister: Elaine Winthrop Modisette; also numerous other relatives and friends. Brenda was preceded in death by parents: Charles and Lena Winthrop; sister: Donna Kay Winthrop and niece: Vanasa McCallister.
