Obituary

Luther Edward Pittman, lovingly known to his family and friends as "Bubba"—and to some as "Eddie"—was born on February 6, 1950, in South Houston, Texas. He peacefully passed away on July 13, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, love, and unwavering devotion to those he cherished.

Bubba was a proud veteran who honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Tank Retriever (Military Occupational Specialty 73C). His service reflected the same courage, determination, and strong work ethic that defined the rest of his life.

After returning home, Bubba married Jill Mitchell, in 1977. Together they built a family and were blessed with two children, Shannon and Timothy. He was a devoted husband and a loving father who worked tirelessly to provide for his family, never afraid of hard work or long hours if it meant giving his loved ones a better life.

The family made their home in Magnolia, Texas, where Bubba worked in downtown Houston at the Texas Commerce Tower. His career later took him to Oklahoma, where he became a wrecker driver before fulfilling his dream of owning his own business. Alongside his company, AAAA Towing and Recovery, Bubba spent ten successful years serving others with dedication and pride. After returning to Texas, he worked at the sawmill in San Jacinto County, where he enjoyed helping his daughter and her family. In his later years, he found comfort living with his beloved aunt, whose love and companionship meant so much to him.

Bubba was the kind of man who believed that hard work was a way of life. He was dependable, determined, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether family, friends, or even strangers needed him, Bubba was there. His quiet strength, generous heart, and caring spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Above all else, Bubba loved his family. Being a father was one of his greatest blessings, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his resilience, his sense of humor, and the unconditional love he shared so freely. He was a loving father, nephew, companion, and faithful friend whose legacy will continue through the many lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Luther Pittman and Vera Herrod; wife, Jill Annette; and his cherished daughter, Shannon Lynn Capps.

Left to treasure his memory are his devoted son, Timothy Edward Pittman; his special swetthearts, Debbie Dixon and Kimberly Sharpe and dear friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Though his presence will be deeply missed, Bubba's love, strength, and example will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His memory will remain a lasting source of comfort, reminding those he leaves behind that a life built on love, hard work, and kindness is a life well lived.
