Carol Eileen Theiss, 77, of Hull, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025. She was born on December 25, 1947, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Emmett Burchfield and Edna Kuester.
Carol was born and raised in Ohio, where she lived for 37 years before making Texas her home. She worked as a vehicle transporter, a role that reflected her independent spirit and strong work ethic. Carol was a member of Dayspring Church in Liberty, where her faith and fellowship brought her great joy and she was loved by all.
In her younger years, Carol loved to dance and sing—music and movement were part of her vibrant soul. She especially cherished family game nights and any opportunity for family gatherings. The holidays were her favorite time of year, filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. A true lover of life’s simple pleasures, Carol’s favorite place to eat was Olive Garden, where she often enjoyed good food and good company.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Burchfield and Edna Kuester. She is survived by her loving family: sons Michael Theiss and wife Lucinda, and Kevin Theiss; daughters Renee Holmes and Christina Theiss; brother John Chapman; grandchildren Christopher Theiss and wife Sonya, Jason Peters, Joshua Martin and wife Patience, Kirsten Hoech and husband Nathan, Alec Herlong, and Kaylie Martinez; great-grandchildren Waylon, Tex, Cheyenne, Kayleigh, Cali, Layla, and Lenny. She is also survived by her bonus sons Klayton Carter and Garrett Mihm, as well as the father of her children, Leo Theiss.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Pace Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, followed by a service at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Andy Glenn officiating. Interment will take place at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton.
Pallbearers will be Jason Peters, Joshua Martin, Alec Herlong, Christopher Theiss, Nathan Hoech, and Garrett Mihm. Honorary pallbearers are Klayton Carter and Lance Coleman.
Carol will be remembered for her warm heart, her love of family, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
