Carroll Floyd Burrell, passed away on July 7, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in Anahuac, Texas on August 4, 1940, Carroll served in the Army Reserve while in high school. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Air Force in 1959, completed his service in 1963 and was proud to serve his country as an Air Freight Specialist.
After military service, he enrolled at Sam Houston State University, graduating with both a Bachelor's & Master's degree in Business Administration in 1966. Upon graduation he worked at Retail Credit for a short time before taking a teaching position at San Jacinto College where he taught business law for 34 years. He enjoyed working alongside his father-in-law in the rice fields during the summers when he was not teaching.
He was a proud member of Rollingbrook Fellowship since 1982, serving as a Deacon and on many church committees.
Carroll is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Linda Stayton Burrell; daughter Kellie Burrell Sartor and husband Tim; granddaughter Sydney Sartor; grandson Stayton Sartor and wife Katelynn.
Carroll was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Beulah Burrell, identical twin brother Harold and younger brother Reggie. His pride and joy was Kellie, Stayton, Sydney, and Katelynn, who affectionately called him Appaw.
Honored to serve as Pallbearers: Tim Sartor, Stayton Sartor, Wade Lundy, Mark Phillips, Steven Bingham, David Alford, and Byron Jones.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Carroll’s honor to Camp Hope.
Visitation will be Monday July 13, 2026, from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Rollingbrook Fellowship. Services with military honors will be held at 11am, Tuesday July 14th at Rollingbrook Fellowship with Pastors Bill Yowell and David Cross officiating. Special thanks to family friend Todd Oubre. Arrangements are made through Pace-Stancil, Mont Belvieu/Dayton. Attire will be business casual.
