Cassandra Jeanette Proffitt, 77, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on October 29, 2025. She was born on March 23, 1948, in Borger, Texas, to parents William Powell and Bonnie Fay Rains Powell..

For more than five decades, Cassandra traveled alongside her beloved husband, working as a timekeeper in the construction industry. Together, they shared a lifetime of adventures and experiences across the years.

Cassandra had a deep appreciation for beauty and history, collecting English antiques and fine china. She enjoyed relaxing by her swimming pool, taking trips to the casino, and was always on the go. She loved watching cooking shows and murder mysteries, and most of all, she cherished time spent with her family. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Cassandra adored her “boys” and treasured every moment with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her loyal puppies, Coco and Pebbles, were never far from her side.

Cassandra was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bonnie Powell. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, George Proffitt; sons, Darrell Ray Proffitt and wife Rhonda of Center, Texas, and Korby Proffitt and wife Lisa of Dayton, Texas; brother, Alan Powell and wife Lanore; sister, Darlene Andrus and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Caitlyn, Payton, Baili, Meagan, Morgan, and Sierra; and great-grandchildren, Layla, Stellah, Averly, Hunter, and Payton’s son.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, Texas, with a service to follow at 3:00 p.m.

Cassandra will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
