Charles G. “Curly†Lloyd, 84, of Hardin, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the Harbor Hospice facility in Beaumont. Graveside services will be held at 2:15 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2013, at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston with burial following thereafter. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Curly was born October 9, 1928 in Freestone, to parents; Dennis C. and Gwendolyn Cayton Lloyd, a former resident of Channelview, and has resided in Hardin for the past three years. He was a graduate of the Galena Park High School class of 1946, veteran of the US Army with service during Korea, a retired truck driver, former employee of ARMCO Steel, and a member of the Galena Park VFW Post. He enjoyed playing cards and his work. Mr. Lloyd was preceded in death by his father: Dennis C. Lloyd, mother: Gwendolyn Cayton Lloyd, wife: Ima Jean Lloyd, son: Benny Lloyd, and sister: Wanda Fowler. He is survived by his son: Johnny Lloyd and wife Sonia of Channelview, companion: Edrese Hufford of Hardin, sister: Bobbye Holleman of Liberty, brother: K. D. Lloyd of LaGrange, grandchildren: Kathryn Lloyd, Jacob Lloyd, Annelise Lloyd, Benny Lloyd, Jr., and Scotty Shelton, great-grandchild: London Lloyd, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
