Cindy Lou Copaus Trichell

Cindy Lou Trichell, age 63, of Anahuac, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026. She was born on March 9, 1962, in Jacinto City, Texas, to Curtis Lee Copaus and Eara Lee Sunday.

Cindy was a faithful and devoted member of Munn Street Missionary Baptist Church in Jacinto City. Cindy had a creative spirit and an entrepreneurial heart. She proudly owned and operated her own businesses, including a barbecue restaurant and a food service known as Anahuac Delights, through which she shared her love of cooking with the community.

She also found joy in making crafts and loved the outdoors, especially fishing, camping, and riding the Frio River. Some of her most cherished memories were made while camping at Turtle Bayou in Hankamer.Cindy also enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes, loved going on cruises whenever she had the opportunity, and she had a deep love for animals. She was the matriarch of her family, a natural leader who proudly referred to herself as “the boss.” Above all, she adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories that will live on in their hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Meta Copaus and Susie and Ivy Sunday; her son, Patrick Lee Copaus; her brother, Sidney Wayne; and her sister, Crystal Lea Lyles.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Travis Levell Trichell; her parents, Eara Lee Ward and husband Leonard, and Curtis Lee Copaus and wife Betty; her son, Russell Thomas Richardson; her daughter, Rhonda Eulene Richardson; her sisters, Sherry Lynn Delvige and husband Robert McDermott, Tammy Renā Yust and husband Fred, Shelia Marie Copaus, Charlotte Kay Eggert and husband Robert, Beatrice Marie Givens and husband George, and Michele Koon; her grandchildren, Arissa, Cynthia, Zoe, Thomas, Russell Jr., and Alyssa; her great-grandchild, Zaiden; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.

A memorial service honoring Cindy’s life will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, with Pastor Marvin Dennison officiating.

Cindy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her legacy of love, strength, compassion, and family will live on forever.
