Connie Lee Jacobs Higgins, 70, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026.

Connie was born on July 20, 1956, in Baytown, Texas, to Wise Samuel Jacobs and Nina May Aaron. She was a woman of unwavering faith and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Connie was a faithful member of both The Little Country Church and Ignite Church in Crosby, where she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving others.

Connie was known for her servant's heart and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need and found great fulfillment in caring for others. Each Christmas season, she lovingly “adopted” children to ensure they received gifts, believing every child deserved to experience the joy of the holidays. To Connie, every holiday was an opportunity to bring family and friends together, creating cherished memories around her table.

An exceptional cook, Connie delighted in preparing meals for those she loved and was especially known for cooking Thanksgiving dinners for family, friends, and others in need. She also enjoyed canning and preserving homemade foods, taking pride in sharing the fruits of her labor with those around her. She also loved baking and everyone looked forward to Christmas when she would make her homemade fudge, peanut butter candy, fruit cake cookies and so much more. Each year on her daughter’s birthday, Connie made sure to fix her favorite meal, Sunday Dinner as they call it. It consisted of fresh okra & tomatoes, fresh corn, fresh squash, cabbage, fresh peas, and her infamous cheese custard pies.

Connie had a passion for travel and treasured every adventure she experienced. Some of her favorite memories included cruising through Alaska, going on a Disney cruise, and taking in the breathtaking beauty of Yellowstone National Park and Hawaii. She especially cherished the many mother-and-daughter trips she shared with her beloved daughter, Michelle. One of their most treasured memories was traveling together to Milwaukee to attend Alan Jackson's final concert. 

Family was the center of Connie's life. She loved every opportunity to gather with those she loved, whether for holidays, birthdays, or simple visits. Her faithful companion, Buddy, brought her endless comfort and joy and remained by her side through life's many seasons. Connie also had a lifelong fondness for Tweety Bird, whose cheerful spirit always brought a smile to her face.

Connie believed friendships were gifts from God and nurtured many lasting relationships throughout her life. She held a special place in her heart for her dear friends, Kelly and Nora, whose friendship she treasured for many years. 

After living in Huffman for 16 years, Connie made Crosby her home for the past 29 years, where she became a beloved member of her community. She will be remembered for her compassionate heart, generous spirit, unwavering faith, and the love she poured into every life she touched.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Wise Samuel Jacobs and Nina May Aaron; her beloved husband of 27 years, Mike Higgins; her brother, Samuel Jacobs; her granddaughter, Kylie; her niece, Taylor; and her nephews, Joshua and Justin.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Michelle Craighead and Howard Orphey; her stepsons, Danny Gatlin and wife, Roxanne, and David Gatlin; her twin brother, Johnny Jacobs; her brother, David Jacobs and wife, Sheila; her sister, Lisa Mongiello; her grandchildren, Colby, Kelsey, Taylor, Gage, Shelby, Sam, Samantha, Anthony and Taylor; her great-granddaughter, Evelyn Higgins; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love and kindness.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Ignite Church in Crosby. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Joseph Walter officiating.

Though Connie's earthly journey has come to an end, her legacy of faith, compassion, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
