Consuelo Santos

Consuelo Santos, lovingly known as Connie or Chita, passed away peacefully at her home in Cleveland, Texas, on August 1, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on November 25, 1929, in Yorktown, Texas, she lived a long and full life centered around her faith, her family, and quiet strength.

Consuelo was a woman of gentle spirit and deep devotion. She loved reading—especially her Bible—sewing, and spending time with her loved ones. Though naturally shy, her love for her family made her fiercely loyal, and she never hesitated to defend or support those she held dear. Her no-nonsense nature was well known among family, and once her mind was made up, there was no changing it.

She met the love of her life, Rafael Santos, with whom she built a life filled with love, faith, and four children. Cleveland, Texas became home, where she raised her family and served her community with quiet dedication. One of her greatest joys was working in the church nursery, simply to be near the babies she loved so much.

Consuelo taught by example—loving unconditionally, standing firm in faith, and always showing up for her family. She prayed daily over each of them, a true matriarch whose legacy lives on in generations to come.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rafael Santos.

She is survived by her daughters Sylvia Gray and Terrie Santos Barton and husband Chris; sons Richard Santos and wife Yolanda and Daniel Santos; sisters Terry Sanchez, Rosie McCollum, and Angelita Guerrero; brothers Ernesto Perez and Daniel Tijerina.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Stasia Marroquin, Yvette Santos-Moore, Eric Santos, Nathan Santos, and Amanda Santos Norris; great-grandchildren Ashlee Faridifar, Jonathon Santos, McKenzie Moore, Jessica Santos, Drew Santos, and Jason Santos; and great-great-grandchild Orion Faridifar.

Consuelo Santos will be remembered for her unwavering faith, quiet strength, and the deep love she poured into her family. She will be missed beyond words but never forgotten.
