Danny Roy Adams's Obituary

Danny Roy Adams was born in Palmer, Texas on August 5, 1941, to parents Charlie Roy Adams and Lola Fay Beck Adams. He passed away in Livingston, Texas on February 17, 2026, at the age of 84. He started his first job at only 12 years old, working in Palmer’s only grocery store and was even given the responsibility of delivering groceries in town and driving to Ennis to pick up supplies. Danny lived a rich, full life with the love of his life, India who he met while attending Tarleton University. After leaving Tarleton, Danny began working for the Beck family’s fabric store before then moving to Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Houston. He spent 30 successful years here, which began with him physically loading bales of rubber onto train boxcars and advanced over the years to innovating new inline blending as one of Goodyear’s few non-degreed engineers. After his first retirement, he began to farm full-time. He and India raised cattle and had a thriving hay business while enjoying their free time traveling. He and India loved being surrounded by their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Danny had a deep and abiding faith in his Lord that began as a young boy in the Palmer Baptist church. After moving to Coldspring, the family joined the Coldspring Methodist Church. Over the years, he helped with renovations to the historical sanctuary, was instrumental in the creation and success of the School for Little Children, and in the expansion of the fellowship hall and family services building. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lola Adams; son, Dyson Ward Adams; brother, Harold Lynn Adams. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, India Grace Adams; daughter, India Rebecca Peden and Robert; son, Brian Douglas Adams and Tammy; daughter in law, D’Ann Woodruff Adams; grandchildren, Delaney Peden Wolovlek and Paul, Adam Helm and Lauren, Brandon Helm and Mwape, Camilla Grace Adams and Blake, Hunter Adams, Ashley Neil Adams and Cadence, and Lola Ruth Adams; great-grandchildren, Olivia Rose Helm and Amelia Grace Helm. Visitation is Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1 pm before his Home Coming Service at 2 pm at the Coldspring Methodist Church, with Rev. Greg McGill officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Coldspring Methodist Church Building Fund.
