David M. Smith, Jr.

David M. Smith, Jr., 61, of Baytown, died Thursday, January 10, 2013, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 14, 2013, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. David was born January 1, 1952 in Houston, to parents; David M., Sr. and Stella Collier Smith, a former resident of Westlake, and has resided in Baytown for the past year. He was a graduate of the Galena Park High School, attended San Jacinto Community College, and was a former safety manager for Kellogg-Brown and Root. He enjoyed cooking, his TV programs, and spending time with his grandson. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father: David M. Smith, Sr., mother: Stella Collier Smith, and brother: Don R. “Duke” Smith. He is survived by his wife of 11 years: Rachelle R. Vincent Smith of Baytown, sons: Michael J. Smith of Winnie, Preston O. Wyant of Baytown, Emerson Wyant and wife Nicki of Texas City, Dillion Wyant and fiancé Jordan Pridgon of Baytown, brother: Richard “Rick” Smith and wife Lisa of Dayton, mother-in-law: Jettie Robertson and husband Ron of LA, father-in-law: J. L. Vincent and wife Peggy of LA, sisters-in-law: Regina Vincent of Beach City and JoAnn Smith of Dayton, brothers-in-law: Michael Vincent and wife Debra of Orange and Lamar Vincent and wife Jacinda of LA, grandson: Devon H. Wyant, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
