David Allen
Nezat
November 20, 1968 — September 24, 2026
Monday
David Allen Nezat, a devoted family man, proud father and grandfather, and a true cowboy at heart, passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 57. He was born on November 20, 1968, in Houston, Texas, to Malvin and Lisa Nezat. Though he left this life far too soon, the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he leaves behind will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
David was a hardworking man who believed in the value of an honest day's work and the importance of providing for those he loved. He was the kind of man who didn't just talk about love and loyalty—he showed it through his actions every single day. Whether he was working, tending to his horses, or finding something that needed doing outside, David was happiest when he was keeping busy. He had a deep love for the outdoors and a cowboy spirit that was as genuine as the man himself. To his friends, he was known as an honest, hardworking cowboy, a man whose word meant something and who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.
Above all else, David's greatest love was his family, especially the love of his life, Galela Nezat. She held a special place in his heart, and there was nothing he wouldn't do for her. His love for Galela was unwavering, and the life they shared was one of his greatest treasures. David was just as devoted to his children and grandchildren, working hard to make sure his family was always taken care of. He may have been a tough cowboy on the outside, but those closest to him knew the size of his heart and how deeply he loved his family.
David wasn't a man who could sit still for long. There was always something to fix, something to build, or something waiting to be done. He found joy in the simple things in life—the outdoors, his horses, a hard day's work, and time spent with the people who meant the most to him. He lived life his own way, with determination, honesty, and a heart full of love. He was the kind of man you could count on, the kind of friend who showed up when you needed him, and the kind of family man whose love was felt in everything he did.
David was preceded in death by his father, Malvin Arcine Nezat Sr.; his mother, Lisa Marchell Honea Holloway; and his sister, Gina Lynn McKenzie.
He leaves behind the love of his life, Galela Nezat; his beloved sons, Jared Nezat and wife Amanda, and Tyler Nezat and wife Ashlee; and his cherished grandchildren, Sawyer, Arcine, Addison, Jessie, Abigail, Tanner, Augustus, Allison, and Layla. He is also survived by his siblings, Malvin Arcine "Rusty" Nezat, Otis Dean Nezat, and Kimberly Ann Steele; his stepmother, Gladys Nezat; along with numerous extended family members, dear friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness and friendship.
David's passing leaves a heartache that words cannot begin to describe. Fifty-seven years was simply not enough time with a man who meant so much to so many. There were still memories to be made, stories to be told, horses to ride, and countless days that his family wishes they could have shared with him.
Although his earthly journey has ended far too soon, David leaves behind something that time can never take away—the love for his family, the strength and guidance of a father, the pride of a grandfather, and the loyalty of a true friend. His hardworking hands may now be at rest, but the legacy of the life he lived will carry on through the family he loved so dearly.
David was a cowboy through and through, a man of his word, and a man with a heart big enough to love and help everyone around him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Rest easy, cowboy. Your work here is done, your horses are waiting, and your love will ride on forever in the hearts of those you leave behind.
