Debra Elizabeth Lowery Korhorn, a beloved member of the Dayton community, peacefully departed this world on June 3, 2024, in Dayton, Texas, at the age of 65. She was surrounded by the love and memories she had cultivated throughout her life.
Debra was born on June 4, 1958, in Rockwood, Tennessee, to her loving parents Lester Lowery and Martha McCarter Lowery. She spent her formative years in Channelview, Texas, where she attended high school before eventually settling in Dayton for the past three decades.
For many years, Debra dedicated herself to the students of Dayton High School, serving as a lunch lady. Her warm smile and caring nature brightened the days of countless students and staff alike.
Beyond her professional life, Debra cherished the simple joys of life. She found immense pleasure in the company of her friends, particularly during her favorite pastime of Singo, where she shared laughter and camaraderie with her cherished group.
At home, Debra found solace in the familiar sights outside her kitchen window, watching the ebb and flow of traffic with a sense of contentment that only comes from a life well-lived.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Martha Lowery, and her sister, Tina Hennager. She is survived by her brothers Ricky, Daniel, and Darren Lowery, her sisters Della Bozeman (George) and Dena Payne (Jeff "Jethro"), her nephew Rodney LaGrone, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Among those who held a special place in her heart were her dear friends Renee Walker, Carey Walker, Bonnie Wilson, Sherri Reed, and the Singo Group at Fergie’s, who shared innumerable cherished memories with Debra.
In honoring Debra's wishes, no formal services are planned at this time. Instead, let us remember her fondly, celebrating a life marked by kindness, friendship, and unwavering love.
