Dewey Gordon “Bubba” Graves, 75, of Dayton, Texas, passed away on February 2, 2026.
Bubba was born on November 24, 1950, to Dewey Gordon Graves Sr. and J. Ola Braden Graves. A lifelong resident of Dayton, he was deeply rooted in the community he loved and proudly raised his family there alongside his wife of 56 years, Linda.
Bubba attended Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton and lived his life serving others through both faith and hard work. He was a man who truly loved to work, and even in retirement he stayed busy helping friends and family with whatever they needed—especially mechanical work. He had a special talent for fixing tractors and was always willing to lend a hand.
In his free time, Bubba enjoyed hunting and woodworking. Known for his playful spirit, he loved to pick on people and aggravate his family and friends just enough to make them laugh. Family meant everything to him, and he especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren, whom he adored and was immensely proud of.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Chris Graves; and his grandson, Kelton Graves.
Bubba is survived by his loving wife, Linda Graves; his son, Mike Graves and wife Jana; his sisters, JoRene Altenburg, Fay Brown and husband Tom, and Mary Fregia and husband Joe; his grandchildren, Richard Graves and Britney, and Cassidy Graves and Evan; and his special friend, Bill Fabriguez. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss his helping hands, quick wit, and generous heart.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Dayton. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton, with burial to follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
Pastors Bill Fabriguez and Ken Davis will officiate. Pallbearers will be Richard Graves, Lenny Manuel, Will Beaty, Troy Coleman, Gene Anderson, and Timmy Simmons.
