It is with love and remembrance that we share the passing of Dorothy Ann Davis Drennan, who completed her earthly journey on August 2, 2025, in Kingwood, Texas, at the age of 78. Dorothy was born on October 8, 1946, in Houston, Texas, to her parents, James Leroy Davis and Eunice Allen Davis.
Dorothy worked for General Electric before dedicating much of her life to public service. She began her public service career as a police dispatcher for the City of Cleveland. Following that role, she fulfilled a lifelong goal by graduating from Lamar University. She then continued her public service as a police dispatcher for the City of Liberty, where she later retired as a respected Court Clerk.
Dorothy was a passionate advocate for youth sports in her community. She was a founding member of the Tarkington Little League and served as its first president, helping to create opportunities for countless young athletes to grow and thrive.
Her personal passions included softball, gardening, cooking, her church community, and the company of dear friends. But above all else, her heart belonged to her family, whose love and companionship she cherished deeply.
Dorothy will be remembered for her giving heart, steadfast loyalty, and the profound love she shared with those closest to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Leroy and Eunice Davis; her beloved husband of 60 years, John William Drennan; her brother, James Edward “Buddy” Davis; and her sister, Betty Marie Wilkinson.
Left to carry on her legacy are her loving daughter, Leslie Robertson and husband Jeremy; grandson, Seth Robertson; granddaughter, Kara Robertson; nephews, Bryan Davis and wife Melinda, Greg Davis and wife Diana, and Rodney Davis; niece, Sherry Wilkinson Harmon and husband Kendrick; and special friends Elizabeth Gagne, Joyce Hargrove, and Sherry Owens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Cleveland, Texas, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Jimmie Charles. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Brookside Memorial Park in Houston, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Dorothy’s legacy by supporting a child who might not otherwise have the opportunity to play softball or baseball.
Pallbearers include Bryan Davis, Kendrick Harmon, Thomas Holmes, Seth Robertson, Jeremy Robertson, and Rex Seale. Kara Robertson and Greg Davis will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Dorothy left a lasting footprint of love, devotion, strength, and leadership that will continue to guide and inspire all who had the blessing of knowing her.
